Yeah I know....we've discussed it before. But I'm about to move away from Sprint now that my contract is up and they've jacked up my rate. Been leaning towards T-Mobile for the 5 friends free, since 80% of my calls come from the same 5 numbers. The wife of a close friend of mine is a honcho at Verizon, and he says he can hook me up good, although he hasn't given me specifics.

    So....

Who is your cellphone provider? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Anybody using T-Mobile and 5 friends free? Like it? Hate it?

Help me make up my mind so I can put Sprint in my rearview mirror!!!

Had sprint, now have Tmobile. I like Tmobile a lot more. Don't have the 5 friends plan, as I have a blackberry data/minutes plan for work.

I hated sprint, even though I used them for 7 years

i've had TMOBILE. Loved their deals, more bang for the buck.

Dropped TMOBILE for Cingular this past winter because of coverage in my area. I lived in south college station and the tmobile coverage sucked.

Verizon will not be cheaper than Sprint even if you know someone working there. If you are looking for a network with the best coverage in the US I would rate it like this:
    ATT
    Verizon
    Sprint
    T-Mobile

For those who are looking for a PDA with a data plan Verizon and Sprint networks are faster than the others. Verizon is the best when it comes to that.

So if you want to leave Sprint because they are getting too expensive for you then T-Mobile maybe your only option because none of the other providers will be any cheaper ... unless you go with Cricket

    get T-Mobile.
I think right now you can get 1500 anytime minutes and myfaves for $59.99

plus the Rizr Z3 is on sale for $49.99 with 2 year contract
and the blackberry pearl is on sale for $149.99

verizon is good and all but its CDMA
so if you wanna buy a bad ass unlocked phone from Europe that needs a sim card it wont work.

I have the TMobile Data plan and my blackberry's internet is much faster than my buddy who uses sprint's service for his

As far as coverage, I have not had any problems with Tmobile yet, in Houston at least...have not been anywhere else with it

If most of your calls are in Houston, T Mobile is by far the best. I rarely have dropped calls, and I've been with them for 6 years.

I've had T-Mobile for 5 years. Hardly any dropped calls. The few times I've called Customer Service with a problem, it was resolved by the end of the call (no longer than 20 mins).

Right now I'm on a family plan with my boyfriend 700 whenever minutes plus both have myfaves. We never go over 500 minutes combined because of the myfaves, and I talk A LOT. It's really great.

    We get
    5 Faves unlimited calling
    700 whenever minutes to split
    Unlimited Nights (9PM)
    Unlimited Weekends

    Add on
    Unlimited txt messaging for both

    Total w/ Tax $105

Edit: My dad, who drives around the country alot, had Cingular for the LONGEST time, until he started taking my mom's T-Mobile out of town with him. Free long distance and he had no coverage problems except up in the mountains in Colorado.

BTW, my T Mobile plan isn't available anymore. I have 3,000 anytime minutes, plus I added unlimited texts and internet. Free long distance in Texas and Louisiana, also. My bill with taxes included every month is roughly 90 bucks.

If you're gonna stay in the Houston area, I'd get Tmobile..

I'm not there, so I have AT&T. I think Verizon is better overall coverage-wise, but AT&T is almost as good and the prices are lower, so I'm with them..

What is most important to you?

    Cheap? Tmobile
    "cool phones"? At&T
    cheap features (internet/txt/ect) Sprint
Hands down best national coverage? Verizon

Voice quality sucks more on GSM (att/tmobile). Also, ATT and Sprint have crappy CS. Overall, i'd rank them in the following order:

Verizon, Tmobile, ATT, then Sprint. I wouldn't even consider ATT and sprint simply because of the horror stories i've heard about them screwing up accounts and not taking responsibility.

I have Alltel. They truly have the best of all worlds (except simcards and the iphone). Great customer service, great voice, data and text plans, and I can use verizon and sprints network where ever i want (all carriers lock down certain areas where you can roam on other carriers - alltel by far is the most liberal).

I just switched from verizon to att so I could get an iPhone.

I'm reading the board and posting this reply from my phone right now.

I've had Cingular/ATT for quite a few years now. Unfortunately they are more expensive, but at least for me I've never had problems with the service. Very rarely have any kind of dropped call problems or anything like that.

Thanks for your input. Yes 99% of my calls are here in H-Town. Looks like I should go with T-Mobile after all. Trying to decide between getting a Nokia or Samsung for $49 or ponying up the extra hundred for a Crackberry.

Question for TMobile users...if I get the Crackberry, how much extra per month does the internet service cost (on top of whatever 5 friends free plan I choose)?

    .

Don't have blackberry, but my internet usage costs $4/month. Course, I also only check my internet on my phone for occassional emails and sports updates. I've no idea how much it might be if you use it regularly.

    Thanks Fatty.

I'll stop at a TMobile store sometime today and work out a deal.
