This show has been much better than I expected. I tuned in initially to see what all the hype from the media was, and I liked it. I'm also a person who probably watches maybe 1 hour of tv a day.
lol, I have this friend who pretends to be a pedo when joking amongst us.. Anyways, the other day he says, "is it too early to have a countdown clock for Taylor until she is 18 like they did for the Olson twins?"
How did Anjay crack under pressure? His team wasn't finding the president cards fast enough. They showed two of his group members taking like 6 swings at the pinata. Anjay got the Presidents in order the first time unlike the Green team.
Some random thoughts about the show: Is it somewhat disturbing that the kids are emulating drinking root beer with alcohol? They are chugging the root beer and also having shots. There was that one kid who was drinking root beer so he wouldn't have to think about his family. I think Mike is a really smart guy and very perceptive, but he seems to be kinda like a well functioning autistic kid. Like that spelling bee champion who appeared on television a few months ago. My favourite character is the Jewish kid with the cowboy hat.
Laurel gave her competition on the green team (Michael, the black girl and the white girl chef) gold stars. She is a hard worker and it isn't her fault the team sucks in competitions. It is no surprise she was unopposed.
He was cracking under the pressure of the re-election. When Olivia came to tell him she was running against him, he had his moment.. "Dont talk to me".. her: "I just came to tell you Im running against you" him: "SHUT UP!!!!" Then the re-election, he was having a mini-breakdown in his head as the votes were cast, and he was completely in disbelief that he won. He thought he was definitely going down.. Hes been trying to be a better "leader" in the way he thinks they want him to be one of late, but its all been pretty forced just cause he doesnt know what else to do. (sorry, apostrophe key isnt working right now)
I think the drinking scenes are great. It first started off with them dropping shots into the root beer ala jager bombs or flaming dr. peppers, then acting all crazy (drunk) which caused a curfew, and then the ensuing hang overs the next morning from a late night. I feel bad for some of these kids because they are going to get so much **** for what they are doing on this show. I know they are supposed to be roughing it, but they must have showers there because no one looks very dirty. And if this is the case, why are they walking all the way to the pump to get water?
Yeah. Kids like him are really one in a million. Glad he got that star. I'll be damned if the little bastards didn't actually evoke an emotion or two this week.
I loved when the host would introduce the gold star as "worth its weight in gold....literally." he must have stopped saying it bc someone pointed out how toolish it sounded, but they had him say that line the first couple episodes and it was the highlight of the show for me.
Did you guys see how Mike disappeared in this episode? He made an appearance at the end but it shows how kids who aren't on Town Council or have strong personalities disappear. DK is a hypocrite lecturing everyone on negativity. Isn't this the same kid that tore down Taylor's posters, jumped on them with a pogo stick screaming don't vote for Taylor, and made Albino girl cry? He deserved the gold star this week though. The Town Council should threaten not to pay anyone who doesn't work. Zach telling Taylor she won't get paid was brilliant.
That most definitely was NOT DK tearing down posters and using the pogo stick. But the editing this episode really made it obvious he was going to win it, he had absolutely zero competition. The show looks more and more stages every episode, but it's still the funniest thing on television.
I want them to just once take the "fun" reward.. I would have loved to see fights over who gets to drive the go-karts..
