Two things wrong. First, the Bucks would have to throw in Ervin Johnson, Scott Williams, or someone to us that could play center, because all we'd have left is Dream. Second, the Bucks would have to be smoking some serious crack to even consider that. I know they need a center, but think about it. Milwaukee would be trading a 21 point 6 rebound All-Star for Kelvin Cato. As much as they need a big man, I don't think they're that stupid. Plus, I thought I read a few weeks ago that Karl was keeping everyone together now after their impressive playoff performance.

I'm more interested in their first round pick. That could be the key to any deal with them.

Like Murphy says, Big Dog doesn't play D. We already have Wiz, so I don't see the value for the Rockets in that trade.

rf34,

Give us a trade to the Bucks that makes sense for all.

Cato for T Thomas in an intricate sign-n-trade with draft choices as side dishes?

I doubt that trade would happen. I dont want Glen Robinson anyway.. he's only good if we trade him again for a big man.

I disagre with ya'll!!

First of all Robinson is an awsome player. The Rockets need some good young players!!

Milwakee is ready to make a run at the playoffs and move on. Allen and Cassel have proven to be star players for the Bucks. Robinson just steals shots away from Ray Allen. Cato could definatley help out the Bucks!!!

Allen is ready to make a move and be the star, but Robinson dosen't let him.

So I say package Williams (who replaces Robinson) along with Cato plus the 4.5 million dollar exception for Robinson.

Francis is a true point guard and want to get 10 assists and get maybe 15 points per game. Robinson here would be the scoring man. Francis definatley needs a go to guy!!!

Come on last year Francis was the go-to man, (come on he's your point guard) then Cuttino was your second go to man (but he's a one man gang and really doesn't need steve to set him up)

Robinson would be ideal with the Rockets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmm, i think Vince MITE be onto something.

I havent looked at the $ numbers, and I dont care if anyone like Sky Pilot shoots down this idea, but how bout:

Milwalkee
-Cato
-Walt
-Drew

Rockets
-Big Dog
-Erv Johnson
-draft pick

If Milwalkee would actually be interested, I think I would pull this deal. Nab Moiso in the draft, and mebbe another big man via Milwalkees pick, and it would be an interesting lineup indeed.

Hey Vince, you beat me to it.
Robinson is an awesome scorer and his Defense while not great is still an upgrade on Walts.

The Main difference is Robinson has been a consistent scorer.
Robinson has averaged over 20 ppg in 5 out of 6 of his seasons compared to Walt who has averaged over 15 in 3 of his 8 seasons and also consistently more than Walt.
The main difference being Robinson can create his own points.

Career stats
Robinson 21.1 ppg and 6 rpg and 3apg
Walt Williams 13.4 ppg and 4 rpg and 3 apg

Wow, hang on, this isn't just an upgrade of Walt, Glenn Robinson is in a completely different class of player compared to Walt Williams.

Hey Dr of Dunk, How many player this season averaged over 20ppg and over 6rpg, bet there aren't too many and thats 20ppg with Allen, Cassell and Thomas on the same team.

I would definitely be partial to this trade, maybe the details need to be a bit clearer, that is do we get a centre (s. williams or e. johnson) or a draft pick and what more would we have to give as Robinson is on a fairly large salary, throw in Walt (he would be redundent) and Drew if need be.

Crisco- great proposal. I'd do that in a second. Going from Cato to Johnson is a dropoff, but not much when you consider all the times Kelvin doesn't even try out on the court. And look at everything else. Big Dog for Walt is no contest. An All-Star for the Wiz? Hell yeah. And Drew for the 15 pick? What could be better? It would be like getting out of our mistake two years ago. (although a Rashard Lewis type player probably won't be there) Still, as good as it is, I doubt Milwaukee wants Cato enough to make that kind of stupid deal. They aren't the Clips.

Cat-

yeah, you're rite. I highly doubt Milwalkee would be that high on Cato. But you never know.

Don forget Hakeem will probly play next season. Just need an adequate center to play 20 - 25 minutes a game. Hopefully.

that will give the Rocks an extra year to find more 7 footers.

If this deal would go through, who could play center for the Roxs? Pig Miller, noooo.
We dont want to loose the little Defensive presence we have and get another scorer. Wiz is already going to start at SF. Roxs should just keep Kelvin Cato. Hes young and will be good, in the next few years. I bet even next year he might Develope a O' game.

No thanks, horrible deal.

The Rockets absolutely come out raped in this deal, and George Karl looks like a genius.

The Bucks would finally get to round out their high-powered offensive lineup with the defensive minded big man they have been missing. Even worse, they get Cato by giving up a player they no longer need; addition by subtraction as Tim Thomas is ready to step into a starter's role.

The Rockets come out trading away their big fish trade bait (a player who they could benefit from keeping), using up their valuable $4.5mill exception, and virtually killing any shot they had at CWebb the following summer. All this in exchange for a player that doesn't fit their system.

An athletic 25 year old center who plays defense. Cato has value, people. Look at what Krause is willing to give up for a stiff like Chris Mihm. Wait for the right deal on Cato, and don't just trade him for anyone.

Rather than taking Big Dog and E. Johnson and the #15 pick, you could move them to the Clippers, throw in our #9 maybe, and take Odom and Kandi... The Clips would still have the #3, they can grab Mihm or Przbilla or however the hell you spell his name. The Clips don't like to pay for talent but if they want to legitimize themselves as a team, it might be a step in the right direction for them. Odom will leave in two, three years anyway.
I know I'll get razzed for this idea--Clutch and others have said "it won't happen"--and how many posts do I have now? three?--but I can't help myself, I want Odom on this team, we would rock. But Big Dog would be a big boost for the Rocks, too, so why not go with the more credible scenario?

YES,,,,YES....YES...make this deal.

The Rockets can draft a center, or perhaps Hakeem can be productive in a Ewing sort of way.

We need another STAR player on this team to speed up the rebuilding process.

Big Dog is welcome on my Rockets any day.

No.. NO .. NO. Cuttino will get scared if the BIG DOG enters houston. Cuttino right now is a small cat and big dog will eat him up. Big Dog sucks on Defense and he cant dunk very good. [IMG]

Seriously we dont need the big dog , we need the Big Lion = Kenyon Martin.

battle of a lifetime, who will win: DaDakota to 1,000; Francis3 to 2,000; or heypartner to 2,000.

too bad we can't turn Cato, Walt, and Drew into Odom and Olowokandi.

DaDakota-who do you suppose we can draft at center at #9? Mihm and Pryzbilla will be gone. The only remote possibility is Tsakalidis, and he may even be gone. Not to mention, he'd be a serious project.

I bet everyone on this board would like this deal if we could then package the number 9 and 15 together with maybe KT and move up to the 3 to get Stromile.

New lineup-
Hakeem/Erv Johnson
SSwift/Rogers??
Big Dog/Bullard
Shandon/Cuttino
Francis/Moochie

Looks pretty good to me. Even without trading up again to get the 3 I still like the Big Dog. Although, everyone is right when they say we need defense...we do!

Robinson took 18 shots a game last year compared to Wiz's 9. Now who do you think Cuttino and Steve would rather have? Hell, Dream can score 20 a game if you let him shoot 18 times. So could Wiz, and for a lot less money.
