I think we should get rid of Hakeem. He's been my favorite player but its time for him to go. hello stevie, new favorite player. I think Cato can become good with some practice and determination. I also think we should sign Venson Hamilton. What do ya think? ------------------
uhh... how about no? Though I do believe Cato is needed on this team, he has not shone the team that he can even play half the games they play. I think signing Hakeem is essential as long as the Rockets can keep the him at a sane salary. If or if not, I want to see the Rockets pick up another center on the roster just so I don't have to endure watching Mo playing center again. ------------------ Louisville Rockets my ass
"Cato can become good with some practice and determination." The whole problem is he doesn't have any determination at all. Unless it's to get his check cashed that is (he moves really well then). ------------------ "Hakeem gets a 3 with the final shot" - my second favorite moment of 95 finals
Cato could be pretty damn good if he had that motivation in him. The problem is he doesn't. I always find myself hoping that 1 day his lazy ass will get it together. Like right now, I hope that he will play his ass off in the summer leagues, gain a lot of confidence, and be ready to dominate in the NBA next season. The problem is, it's not gonna happen. Hamilton could be good as an energy guy, but at 6'9 (I believe), I don't think he will do us much good. I'd rather sign some sort of a big man closer to 7 ft. ------------------ its not the hours you put in your work that counts, it's the work you put in the hours - alaskansnowman
Alaskan.. You have a good point. I think he's tired of being a lazy chump a$$ and is going to TRY to change that image. I had an idea the other day, why doesn't Cato, Taylor, and KT form some kind of workout regimen like Pippen, Barkley, and Dream had a few years back. I know there was talk last year of Cato's workouts and nothing happened, but at least this year maybe Mot and KT might get better results out of him. And it couldn't hurt MoT to bulk up a little more and pick up a few more boards this season. He's already got a nice shot, if he was a 20 / 10 kinda guy he could comand more $$$$$. That alone should be more motivation. ------------------
I thought Hamilton was closer to 6'11 and if his arms are long then he would be better than having a 7 footer. I think if Rudy kicked Cato's A$$ to play the game for real than he could put some decent numbers up and we wouldn't need Hakeem. We've seen signs of Cato being good, maybe 2001-2002 is his time ------------------
