droxford, did you even read his post? He said, "I don’t want to hurt the cat or call pound on it, because I know it will be put to death."
Poor cats. (not the one Da-Glyde is dealing with, since at least he's not planning to hurt it) I mean the ones that some of the rest of you have apparently dealt with. They're just being cats. If you're going to go to that much trouble, devote your efforts to simply putting something on there that the cat won't like. Lots of good ideas already in this thread.
Ok, another one, you can befriend it with a shoot-first point guard with a lot of heart but no brain for the game and then maybe it will get shipped off to Florida or California.
After reading the D&D thread, I think half the members here would just catch the cat, boil it and eat it with crumpets.
Another product to consider is this ultrasonic cat deterent, Cat Stop. I've never tried it, but it is recomended by fixourferals.com, a large wild cat care group in California. It'd be less messy than the other methods. As an asside for people that would like to reduce cat populations and think that sending cats to get killed will fix the problem - It's actually counterproductive to kill the cats. It creates a void in the population, and you just get a giant spike in kittens for the next generation. By the time they grow up, you end up with more cats hunting the same food supply. You therefore have more fights and territorial disputes which result in all the unplesant behaviors that you are wanting to get rid of. Even if you hate cats killing them is counterproductive. Get them spayed and release them. They mellow out so they don't pee on everything and don't fight all night (as much), they don't reproduce like bunnies creating population pressures, but they fill the ecological 'niche' preventing an explosion of new kittens and if one happens they'll 'cull the pride'.
Actually we trid this. If you sprinkle cayenne pepper around the areas they frequent, they'll stay away, and it doesn't hurt the cats. The problem with this, though, is that it's a very temporary solution. It's not practical to constantly apply the pepper all the time.
I think KC hit the nail on the hid. Just spring for a car cover and you won't have any problems with cat dust, pollen, or any other problems. Your car will be cleaner and you will be happier.
or take your junk out of the garage and park your car inside. some people also use motion activated lights.. which will turn on when the cat gets near your car. It is actually quite useful in that it lets you know if anything gets near your car. J
Thanks guys, but like my post says.. it's other peoples cars that this happens to, my cars are in the garage.. it's when other peoples cars are in the driveway at night..
