The previous owner of the house we bought had dogs, and i'm not loving the smell of the carpet. Anyone had pet odors removed from the carpets professionally? I don't want to do it myself, I want to get it done right. I'm thinking about getting it steam cleaned and then shampooed. So, I need some recommendations on people to use. Gracias.
These guys are great! I had some stains I thought would never come off but they took care of them!! I think if you tell them you heard them on 1560 you get a discount. http://www.dirtfreecarpet.com/

No chemicals? I feel like I need some chemicals for the pet odor. Did you just have an issue with stains, or smell also?
I had some issues with an water leak in one of the rooms, It had a bad wet dog smell to it. Give them a call and find out what they can do for you. One thing the guy did do was tell me that if I wasn't satified I wouldn't have to pay a dime.
Once that smell is in the carpet, it's never coming out. You're better off just tearing it up and buying new carpet. Carpet is pretty cheap these days, you may as well just start over.
Man... just be lazy.. www.stantleysteemer.com I believe they are having a special right now, if I'm not mistaken. I will say though, they do a good job.
Replace it all. Its the only way to really get it taken care of. Once something sinks into the carpet, it will last forever, though you'll get used to it. The smell may have even sank all the way into the concrete.
I don't think it's in the concrete, the house is only 3 years old. At least I hope not. It's not like it smells like pee, it just smells like dog hair. We are replacing the carpet eventually, I just don't want to do it before our new puppy is potty trained.
Then you'll probably be ok getting it steam cleaned then, and using pet deodorizer when you vaccuum. I do suggest hard floors though because it is so easy to clean and the smells aren't lasting. Ours was disgusting when we bought it. The house had been foreclosed on, and the owner apparently let his dogs and cats, and possibly himself pee all over the place. We replaced all the carpeting with hardwood, and we had to cover the concrete in PineSol to get rid of the smell.
You may be able to pull up the carpet yourself and replace some of the carpet pad underneath. Then get it steam cleaned. Its when that smell gets down into the carpet pad that its hard to get rid of. The carpet itself is usually easy to clean.
I used SEARS once for mine, but only the game room upstairs and the stairs. They did a decent job for about $135. Just call SEARS.
Here you go, I actually asked the guy about your situation today as he was cleaning my carpet. He told me to give you his #832-577-5306 his name is Ty. Dude knows his carpet cleaning and did mention that pet odors do require some different chemicals.
