I predicted they would make a run at him over a week ago. Denver would be wise to engage them to get NY to up the ante. IF LA offered up Odom and Bynum, it could get very interesting. Denver doesn't need Bynum but no telling what he could be flipped for.

Broussard is saying main piece from Lakers is Bynum.

    Details?

Clearly, this has to involve a 3rd team given that the Lakers have NONE of the prereq's needed to trade for a superstar: youth + draft picks + expiring contracts.

Unless, of course, we're talking Bynum here. In which case, that makes Nene expendable which is good for us.

A deal for Bynum is leaps and bounds better than Chandler/Brewer/Minny first rounder as was apparently discussed in that 3 team trade thread.

Has to be a rental. I don't know how Kobe and Carmelo could coexist.

Interesting. The Lakers would be giving up their size advantage which many people say is the reason they're back to back champs. Kobe Melo & Pau would be fun to watch.

Well they are friends. I think they could coexist. It also takes a load off of Kobe's shoulders.

Kupchak has a duty to at least make a play for Melo. But it will not happen.

Right, because they didn't win a gold medal together or anything.

Didn't Kobe already rape someone in Colorado? I guess this is what you call double jeopardy.

The Lakers play in Los Angeles, a.k.a. La La land. What's Carmelo's wife's name again?

    Coincidence? I think not.

Anyway, not surprising: Denver is probably talking to a bunch of teams. Even if the plan is to make a trade with, say, NY, they need to explore all of the options and leverage for the best return. If they leak the news that Bynum is a possibility, it may force NY to up their ante since the Lakers is a pretty attractive team that may make Melo rethink his NY or bust position.

I agree, I think this will put the most pressure on NY. I think if Melo goes to LA, he is there to stay. Glamor city for his wife, Championship contender with Kobe and Gasol.

Knicks are pretty screwed if this goes down

    Main question is:

Should the Rockets entertain a deal being the third team involved to land Bynum? Denver will obviously trade him any way, and plus he would never fit carls system.

No matter who - Bryant - Anthony - Odom - Gasol

This looks like a slap in the face to the teams, that are trying to build themselves by working hard in the draft

Who the hell wants Bynum? He's got one foot out on the court and the other on disabled list. We sure as hell don't need another Yao.
