Lisa Merrell, right, from Des Arc, Ark., helps her 6-year-old daughter, Devin, enjoy a fried twinkie at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock, Ark., Monday, Oct. 14, 2002. Fried twinkies have been the most popular food item at this year's fair.
Why am I not suprised that they FRY Twinkies in Arkansas? Why in the hell would you fry a friggin Twinkie?
"But mommy, if I eat the fried twinkie, I won't have room for a salad......" "HAHAHA!! Wow, that's the best laugh I've had all day...Now, hurry up and eat, before the congealed-grease-on-a-stick booth closes down!"
It's Rosie Odonnell in disguise on vacation! I have heard of fried candybars also, we had a thread about The Fried Twinkie(by rockHEAD) before... yummy!
I saw on FoodTV that some guy at some fair in the Northeast (specific enough for ya?) has been deep frying Oreo cookies, and like the Twinkie in Ark, they've been extremely popular.
We take eighteen ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich, creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham, and a fried egg. We call it the Good Morning Burger.
"Dumplin' if you finish all this fried twinkie, we'll go to the next booth and get you a boiled one..."
I woke up this morning to a local radio talk show frying a twinkie. No joke. They apparently heard it somewhere and decided to do it in-studio. Apparently everybody loved it. Sounds scary to me, but then I guess it's not much different from eating a donut... 'cept it seems nastier.
