I've got 4 questions about the CBA that I need help understanding. These are hypothetical questions. 1) If the Rockets were under the salary cap by $1 mill, what could they resign Shandon for, using his early Bird rights? I'm mainly concerned with how much it would be the first year. 2) After resigning Shandon with his early Bird rights, which I assume would put us over the cap, would we have the $4.5 mill exception available to us in order to offer it to MO? 3) What is the projected salary cap for next year? I'm confused, because I've seen a couple of different ones. Davo's salary page indicates that it is $43 mill. 4) Isn't Langhi signed to a guaranteed contract for next year? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. ------------------
Langhi has two more guarunteed years, doesn't he? Then its either a player or team option on the fourth year, I'm not sure which. ------------------ Who's ya daddy?
1). We could resign Shandon with early bird for the average salary figure (which is like 108% of the real average salary). That'll be anywhere from 4-4.5 million. Basically, a contract like Cuttino's except a few mill higher due to escalating salaries. 2.) Even if we're over the cap we can resign Shandon with Early Bird, then sign Mo with the exception. If we're below the cap by the amount of our exceptions (mid level+million dollar~5-6 mill) on August 1, the first day of signings, we lose our exceptions but have cap. In that case, we could use our cap space (on Mo or a FA) then resign Shandon with early bird). 3.) It's unknown for sure, but likely around 42 mill from what I've seen. 4.) Langhi's contract has a 2nd year option, which I'm pretty sure we'll exercise for somewhere around the minimum. SirCharlesFan-You're thinking of 1st rounders, Langhi was a 2nd rounder. ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
