Looks like this show is being cut mid-season. I have to say this way a huge disappointment. After the first season I thought it was going to be the next great series. Then the 2nd season happened...........and the third. Poor writing killed that show. I'm actually surprised it lasted as long as it has. I haven't been that let down from expectations since T-Mac came to Houston. http://tv.yahoo.com/heroes/show/394.../tv.tvguide.com-nbc-cancels-oncemighty-heroes
Heroes should be the textbook example of what NOT to do with a hit TV series. It just shows that Tim Kring got lucky with Season 1 and continued to butcher the series for 3 more seasons.
Season 1 was one of the greatest single seasons of TV ever, season 2 was still watchable, season 3 was flat out stupid, and season 4 was even worse. How this show fell so quickly is amazing.
Wow, this kinda shocking... but I guess it's for the best... they really weren't going anywhere with it. They'd been fiddling around with Syler finally being good and Nathan being dead... it was the same repetitive stuff.
Feel free to rep. Ha! I swear I can't get any. In more than one way. Zing! No, but seriously folks, I kind of got pulled back in at the beginning of the third season. Then they turned around and totally threw away the plotline mid-season. Thats pretty much when I gave up. Man I loved that first season. I would even give people funny looks a la Parkman to try to change their mind. Looks like I killed all dignity for nuttin'!
Like others have said, the first season was a masterpiece, but the show fell off pretty hard from there.
Wow. They are not even going to wrap the show up. What a waste of time. I feel so unsatisfied when I don't get an ending. I hate when that happens. Nutz! Instead of sending em nuts...we're going to send em cotton candy...and force them to wrap up the damn story...even if it is five minutes of some hero explodes and everybody dies. The end. You killed Heroes! You bastards!
Agreed, I watched the first 2.5 seasons on Netflix, and then they put all the seasons of 24 on.... game over Heroes.
It's a damn shame. The show had promise, but 1.5 failing seasons kinda adds up to this. They blew their load on the first season, and seasons after that just didn't have the momentum the first season did. They killed off too many good characters, and left a lot of sh!tty ones in their place. Plus, the whole Sylar is a good guy, then bad guy, then good guy BS was dumb. That and Peter losing his powers. Every villain needs and equally matched hero, batman had joker, superman had lex, sylar really didn't have anyone once Peter faded into obscurity. The show had promise, but it went in too many directions to be constructive... I think Chuck has done the opposite. Chuck really didn't end their first season well, but since then they have shown a great deal of promise. With the death of one show comes the life of another.
That is depressing. I used to think The Office could do no wrong. Guess I was mistaken. At least there are the occasional funny parts. 30 Rock has won me over these days. If nothing else, thank Jacob for Lost.
Not a whole lot to add that hasn't already been said but I enjoyed season 1 and 2. Season 3 was a fairly large drop-off and the inconsistencies with Kring not knowing what the hell to do with his characters. I guess I'm in the minority but I thought season 4 wasn't bad. Not great, but watchable. Granted, I download all my TV eps so it was never an issue of I MUST watch this when it originally airs. Season 5 was going to be the stupidest thing in the world though so perhaps going out this way was the best for the show. RIP Heroes.
that last Lost episode was awful though. this show will end with no real resolution to most of your questions.
I loved the first season, but gave up after 3 episodes of season 2. Sounds like that was the right call.
Why? The middle part of the season was boring, the bad guy getting away at the end was anti-climatic, and the narration at the start of every episode was so awful. There are so many other series with much better seasons than Heroes season 1.
