    Honestly can Commentators be penalized?
I remember Fox penalizing their comentators for some racy things they said but what can the league due.

This question arose as I was watching the Nuggets Game. I don't like Matt Bullard or hate him. He is a loudmouth and gives decent coverage but he really goes after and gets riled up on calls. I agree with his harsh comments on the refs on being terrible for allowing flops and targeting Landy but will this get him in trouble?

He gets emotional just like any other fan. It's hard to see you're team being reffed unfairly when you're calling a game.

yes, anytime the commentators call out the refs they can be punished by the organization but not directly from league.

It's annoying when Bullard keeps whining about the officials and flops. I want to hear some actual basketball analysis not referee analysis.

Bull expresses what the majority of us fans are thinking when it comes to refs. He has even made it a point to criticize the officials when our own players flop. He is speaking the truth!

i didnt hear him tonight, but if he's still doing it after the portland game then i'm sure he's "allowed". If the station/team didnt like it he would have definitely been told by now to calm down, especially after the portland game, but he's still doign it apparently.

I agree. And he does analyze games way better than Clyde (Bulls Eye "Ok, stop it right there"). I think Bullard has done a terrific job but nobody can beat Calvin Murphy.

Leave Bullard alone. He is doing great. Bill W is the best in the business.

Normally I get annoyed when he gets on an extended soapbox speech but tonight I was right there with him on the b****ing about the refs, except mine was filled with curse words.

Its surprising what influence a handful of complainers can do to a large organization sometimes .

OP, you're an idiot. Bull was right about most of the crap that the refs did out there. If we had got the calls tonight, we would of won this game.

I'm glad I didn't have to hear any Drexlerism crap tonight.

Quit b****ing about Bull, he is expressing how we all feel when people flop.

i bet if he stopped people on here will start b****ing about our commentators not standing up for the players/team on bad calls  .

Its cool, after a while. But now he's complaining everytime it happens and he needs to stop.
