It's a damn shame ol' Cammy has to end his career in this fashion -- always hurt, only showing flashes of his previous brilliance, and a problem with controlled substances. I think Caminiti really needs to just hang it up and accept his fate. His body can't take the punishment anymore, especially after all the abuse it took by his own drug/alcohol problem.

    Poor Cammy. [IMG]

I would rather have Mo Taylor and his love of the Rockets than Webber and his love of our money.

Rocket's need power forward. Mo near now. Go near Mo.

If Castilla wasn't starting to come around, I would even suggest picking up Cammy for the minimum. Oh well, someone will pick him up.

Cammy would be perfect as a bat off the bench. Charlie Hayes isn't getting it done, so why not see if Caminiti would be willing to accept a backup role.

I think the Astros burned their bridges with Caminiti last year after the way his alcohol treatment and injury rehab was handled.

I agree they could get rid of Hayes, but I don't think Caminiti would want to come back UNLESS it was his only option. I suspect he has a few options out there.

I loved Cammy when he played for the Padres. It's a shame about his substance abuse problem. Injuries happen, but he has been very unlucky.
I wish him well. Good news is there are always team looking for a good bat (even if it's an old bat). i'm sure he will find work, I just wish him well!

The Astros were trying to "force" Caminiti to come back from his injury before he was ready (according to Caminiti). This implied that the Astros felt he was dogging it.
