Can someone type up a paragraph about Nomar's team so when I update the pages he won't feel left out? I would just take something from a previous thread but he's made so many changes to his roster it wouldn't make sense. Davis/Fortson KG Sprewell/Gill Iverson Knight The only pick he has is his own 2nd rounder. Thanks Also if you guys really want to be creative, feel free to write anything you want about any of the midwestern teams and I'll just include it on their pages. ------------------ Sell crazy someplace else. Actually, i still have my own rookie pick too man. Bring on the critiqes!! ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
Damn, I didn't realize that. ------------------ Sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here...
There is a strong wind blowing in Vancouver. A cold, harsh biting wind that blows down the plains sweeping away everything in its path. It is the Wind of Change. A team which was expected to field one of the most talented starting five's in the game suddenly found itself staring down the gaping maw of no-depth and an injured superstar. After shopping Morris Peterson for every point guard this side of Jersey, the General Manager of the Grizz finally shipped him and Abdur-Rahim for Latrell Sprewell and Antonio Davis and assorted other players. The change would not end there though, Big Country Reeves got his bags packed and was exchanged for Brevin Knight. The Vancouver Grizzlies at least had some modicum of depth now, but who can say if it will be enough. Certainly they are still extraordinarily talented, featuring stars like Kevin Garnett, Latrell Sprewell and Allen Iverson along with top-notch role-players like Antonio Davis and Danny Fortson. Certainly a collection of talented players, or valuable trade bait. What the future holds for this team is anyone's guess. Having mortgaged the future for the present and having found the present lacking, are Kevin Garnett and Allen Iverson going to be the next victims of this cold, blowing wind? Or will the Grizzlies weather this storm and hope that the star power in their line-up will be enough to carry them through the lean years ahead? ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. Why don't you write something for the Jazz too? I'm interested in what you think Puedlfor. ------------------ Sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here...
Give me a minute or two and I can get something out. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. You know the Knicks like to talk so much about religion, but I think the Lord was a Raptor fan."
The Utah Jazz were like the mountains that frame their picturesque state, constant against the everchanging world. It was Stockton-to-Malone, Malone-to-Stockton and short shorts. But along with that consistency came another less desirable consistency, a consistent history of playoff failures. The latest came after the Jazz ripped through the regular season on the way to a franchise record 72-10 record. Up 2-0 in the first round, the Jazz dropped three straight games and had to explain to their fans and their ownership why it had happened. Again. But for this dissapointment, there would be a reckoning. Stockon - gone mid-season. Malone - gone in a blockbuster trade. In their place come a swarm of young, athletic, long-armed swingmen. Playing a furious 1-3-1 trapping defense, the Jazz looked poised to shoot to the top of the league. And why not? They had a veteran point guard in Jackson who runs teams like a machine, and next to him is the Croatian Sensation Toni Kukoc, who at 6-11 is a nightmare match-up for other two guards. Dirk Nowitzki now lines-up at the Small forwward position, acquired for Raef LaFrentz and Darius Miles, and stud Antonio McDyess and shot blocker extraordinaire Shawn Bradley anchor the front-line. Injury problems have slowed the Jazz down somewhat this year, but they've still raced out to a 15-5 record. With a healthy McDyess and their superb starting line-up, this is a team that will challenge the Blazers and Mavs for the crown. The present is great for the Jazz, but the future is better. Though there will be lingering questions over the point guard slot after Jackson retires, the young, athletic players like Nowitski, McDyess, Lewis and Larry Hughes should make this team a formidable foe for the forseeable future. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. That was a great read Puedlfor. You are truly the David Halberstam of this board. Thank you... ------------------ Sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here...
word to metaphors. Were you an English major P4? ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. No problem. Thank you for the compliment. The metaphors just sort of came to me, I think they came out good. And I'm not an English major, but I have always had sort of a way with words. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. Hey Puedl. How about one for mine too? I can write one about all Midwest teams, but not enough time for the whole league. ------------------ Never Underestimate the Heart of a Champion
You guys can do whatever you want as far as writing up stuff for midwest teams. The more the merrier. ------------------ Sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here...
