i think byron leftwich is a future superstar in the nfl and i would love for him to be a cowboy. Do you guys think the cowboys will be able to get him in the draft by trading for a lower pick...maybe a trade with the texans or lions?

the only thing that worries me about Leftwich is that he's been hobbled like hell in virtually every game I've ever seen him play.

Injured players don't usually go high in the draft; so maybe the boys can get him.

Your best hope is that some one falls in love with him and trades up to get him, Eli Manning declares and he falls to the Girls or you trade up to get him.

No way Parcells uses a high pick on a QB...IMO anyway. I think he will go after a free agent with experience or get someone via trade. Thats not to say that he wouldnt take one in the 7th or 8th round.

I'd take Carson Palmer but he'll be gone by the 5th/6th pick.

He will be a Chicago Bear if he is available at the 4th pick.

Byron looks good also, I am just worried about Cincy taking a QB (Carson). Most people are saying that Carson is the better QB now I think.

1 Cincinnati Bengals 2-14 (need QB)
2 Detroit Lions 3-13 (Have good QB, RB)
3 Houston Texans 4-12 (Have good QB, need RB)
4 Chicago Bears 4-12 (Need QB, Need O-Line, have good RB)
5 Dallas Cowboys 5-11 (Need everything QB, RB)
6 Arizona Cardinals 5-11 (Need QB if they don't resign Jake, need RB)

I think Dallas/Arizona will have to flip for the 5th pick.

Who do you guys think will be the top picks?

    Carson, Byron, who else?

Charles Rogers at #2 makes too much sense it probably won't happen. Millen will probably want to go defense.

I think it has already been determined by some sort of tiebreaker that Dallas is assured the 5th pick.

However, I'd be shocked if Parcells took a QB...even if Palmer was available.

Really? Parcells is more comfortable with a veteran QB I guess? Maybe Dallas can get Jake the Snake Plummer? That we would be pretty sweet if they could add another WR. Dallas already has a decent defense with Glover, Woodson, Williams, Nguyen... There O-Line needs some work also.

He has always been a proponent of drafting size and stregnth early...and finding diamonds in the rough at the skill positions with later picks. In particular, he seems to like an experienced QB.

I've heard rumors that Plummer may be an option. I dont know if I'd like that or not...we'll see. Also, don;t be surprised to Keyshawn wearing the star within a year or so.

I think Quintin Griffin may be the steal of the draft

I am a huge Leftwich fan, and I think the Bengals will regret taking Palmer over Leftwich.

He's going to be an NFL stud, in my opinion.

Yeah Parcells has always seemed to pick up a veteran qb wherever he goes (Bledsoe the exception). I could see Plummer in Dallas.

He is only 5"7 right? Stocky as hell though. Could he be the next Barry Sanders?

drapg - leftwich is huge isn't he? I have heard his downfall is mobility though.

I like Griffin too. I think he'll surprise a lot of people as a scat back. Think a more successful version of David Palmer...

As for Leftwich, yeah he's a load. He's listed as 6'6" and anywhere from 240-280lbs. Think Daunte Culpepper, but better arm.

Can he get out of the pocket and run over people like Daunte? I never watch college ball man... His height and size are awesome.

First of all, I love the man's heart. Seeing him get carried by offensive linemen from play to play a few weeks ago showed me he's willing to do anything for his team. That put me over the edge as a Leftwich fan. I liked him before, but I loved him afterwards. The guy was willing to risk his NFL career for his teammates. Stupid? Perhaps. But the man showed his true character.

His arm strength is incredible. I think he can throw a deep ball better than anyone in the NFL right now.

Mobility - very good for a man his size. Naturally, he's not fast but he has the strength and enough speed to break tackles and get yards when the pocket collapses around him. I don't see him scrambling as much as Culpepper, but he won't sit in the pocket like Marino either. He's just in between and good enough not to be a liability.

As you can tell I'm really high on this guy and can't wait to watch him in the pros. He's easily going to be my favorite player in the NFL and I will probably become a huge fan of whatever team he goes to.

Thats not to say that he wouldnt take one in the 7th or 8th round.

Aren't the Simms' close to Parcells?;)

As for Griffin.....he reminds me of Barry Sanders more than any other back I've seen in awhile.....very elusive, pretty fast, strong, and has a huge heart.....

I think Cinci will most likely take Palmer, Lions should take Rogers, Texans should take Kennedy. I think Leftwich will either be a Panther or maybe a Cardinal.
