Dallas: I live in between Nashville and Chattanooga and my mother is a Vandy grad. However, I think Vandy has produced better football players than basketball players. The only Vandy basketball players that played in the NBA I can think of are Clyde Lee, Jan van Breda Kolff, and Will Perdue. None of these guys were stars in the NBA. Yes, I think Langhi should be given a chance and maybe in time he'll be better than the other guys that I listed. However, don't forget that Baloney played at Vandy for a while before transferring to Penn, so Langhi is already better than him, but we'll have to see about the other 3. BTW - Isn't it ironic that Vandy's football teams which haven't had a winning record in 20 years produces more NFL caliber players than the basketball team which is always a winning and competitive program?
asking some guys around here to be patient is like asking a 9 month old baby to go get ya some smokes from the store......NOT GONNA HAPPEN! It gets irritating, but whatcha gonna do? Geeze guys..how many games did Langhi play in last year?? what? 5 or 6?? hom many minutes total? not a whole hell of alot..give the guy a chance..same goes for Rice-a-roni, I dont like the guy either..but I'm willing to see what hes got HERE before calling for his head... oh well why do I bother?
This has nothing to do with patience. I have seen enough. Langhi is not NBA quality, and the Rockets should try to get a 2nd rounder for him before the rest of the league finds out the truth.
Rodney M., what exactly have you seen? I watched almost every game last year and Langhi didn't even get garbage time in most of them. It was only the last few games that he got any playing time at all, and he did pretty well. I hope he gets some time at the 2 spot.
RodneyM, you can tell all that from watchin him play no more than 4 hours worth of bball?? You should be a freakin NBA scout or GM huh??
There is no doubt that I should be a NBA scout or GM, but unfortunately my current job does not allow me the freedom of a second job. Thank you for noticing my eye for talent.
RM I don't know why you're so intent to get rid of Langhi, but thank god the Rockets don't think across the same lines you do. To dump a rookie before really seeing what he can do makes ZERO sense. The guy isn't making a ton of money, and he is a 6-11 SF/SG so you give players like that a chance to prove himself. The Rockets obviously feel the same way, they bulked him up, played him during the Summer League, and have decided he will play some minutes at the 2-guard spot. I would say give him a chance, but obviously you aren't willing to do that, so all I can say is prepare to be proved wrong!
Not that I am comparing Langhi to these great players, but even guys like Payton and Kobe sucked it up big time in their rookie years? What the heck have you seen already in Langhi? He has barely played! I think he can turn out to be a pretty good NBA player.
