Me thinks you need to go check your history again. Look at the unemployment rate that Clinton took over from Bush SR. Look at the stumbling economy. Then look at both at the end of his term. He "cruised" because of his work and policies that brought the ONLY real surplus this nation has ever seen. Meanwhile he lowered the crime rate, and didnt have to invade nations to do so. Nor did he have the want to do so within the first few months...thanks Mr. O'Neill and Richard Clarke for pointing this out to us.

Again, the economy was already in full fledged recession by 9-11. It was sinking fast. Granted 9-11 didnt help bolster us out it any quicker, but W's policies were failing and failing fast.

If you mean by the same that One man took us from a disgusting low to an all time high. While another took us from that all time high to another new low....then yeah I agree with your rolleyes.

Hey, I hear George Seifert also won a Super Bowl with the 49ers taking over from Bill Walsh. He didn't do crap on his own with the Panthers and then some guy named John Fox takes them back to the Super Bowl just a couple of years after Seifert leaves the Panther den.

Things are complicated. Not everything begins and ends with inauguration.

The recession was in swing before GWB took office.

Clinton rode the Dot Com Hot Air Baloon. GWB got to ride herd on Post 9/11 Wall Street. Which segment of American Economic history would you rather shepherd?

I'm not sure of your tenuous connection between invading Afghanistan or Iraq and lowered crime rate, but I think there is a doctoral dissertation lurking therin.

I can prove to you the Economy was still rising when Bush took office and didnt stop till we were a few months into his term. Like I said, I think you need to do some more fact checking. Quit using the Shawn Hannity "Recession was in swing as Clinton was leaving" "Internet Boom was Clintons savior"

It is a weak argument, giving Clinton no credit for his certainly outstanding policies which brought us out of **** and into prosperity, by saying he rode Sr's coat tails.

    Not everything starts with inauguration...true.

Its pretty obvious looking through Sr's, then Clintons, then Jr's terms who affected a great positive change, and who affected a great negative change.

You republicans make me laugh. Your battle cry for a few years now has been that "Bush will make us safer" But funk what will probably hurt most americans - Domestic Crime- in favor of what certainly almost all americans will never be hurt by -"muslim" terrorism.

This has been re-hashed many times here before. I'll go with my version of events. None of it is stark; it all bleed over.

It is not that I gave Clinton no credit; it's that you gave Bush all the blame.

    Affected or rode herd over?

Well Ill take point number ONE.

NBER, the non partisan gov't agency whos entire job is to track the economy has officially stated that the Economy was still growing into March of Bush's first year.

Ill agree with a gov't agency who's entire job it is to track economy cycles. You can choose to agree with what YOU believe really occured.
