Here I sit at my sales office in Dallas (Richardson to be precise), thinking, "Hmmm...am I really doing what I want to do? What I am passionate about?" I have rather enjoyed being in sales and sales management for the last 10 years or so. I have also loved being around the latest technology (IT/Telecom/etc.) the last 12+ years. I've had some good years and some lean ones. But mostly good. But I find myself feeling antsy, anxious, and sometimes just plain bored. I guess I am not looking for advice so much as maybe your stories on "burnout" in your career and what you were led to do (different industry, retire, go back to school, time off, what?). So what's your career burnout story? Motivate me!
I know the feeling. After 20yrs in IT I'm sick of it. I'm currently going back to school for Human Services -- working on getting 100% out of debt and switching careers to something that pays little but has high reward

Anyone that actually enjoys IT every day of their work life after years in IT and doesn't feel some kind of boredom or burnout at some point needs their head examined because you probably are bonkers.
