Texas has implementd a state wide burn ban. With Jan 1st this weekend... If you have kids shooting off fireworks in your neighborhood, will you report them?
No way in hell I'm reporting them. Stats show that 1 out of every 1000 hurts themselves or others with these. Let Darwinism take it's course. BTW, just another way to get taxpayers to cough up more dough. I guarantee you that there will still be fireworks stands for years to come.
On the news today (Austin) the reporter said that the current law allows for only the banning of the use of fireworks, not the banning of selling them. So you are probably right.
How dare they take away my right to have artillery shell wars. If me and my friends want to shoot artillery shells at each other than we should be allowed to, thats the American way.
And construction debris. The bans usually apply to mainly unincorporated areas (since the usually don't have a fire department close by) Im building out in an unincorporated area right now and I burn material every weekend (construction dumpsters run about $300 a dump). I had an idio neighbor that tried to burn last weekend when we were having 20-30 MPH winds/gusts. He caused about 2-3 secondary grass fires because of that.
I was hella happy to hear about this, I got good sleep every night this past week It does suck to be a kid and have fireworks and not be able to shoot them, but who cares they get like 3 weeks off from school...
That's what you get for having neighbors that make meth in their bathtub. If it starts January 1st, then what's it matter if you do it now? It's not January 1st quite yet.
Here is a little Burn Ban clairification for all you neighborhood nazi's before you go calling the cops on everyone shooting off fireworks... "Some aerial fireworks are also banned. The fireworks restriction only affects the sale and use of "skyrockets with sticks" and "missiles with fins." Taken from a burn ban story at click2houston.com
