I didn't see this posted, but I know at least one other poster was a fan. According to SMG this this will be the last season of BtVS. Lord knows they need that timeslot for The Parkers, Joe Millionaire, or the Surreal Life. It looks pretty certain (through my rose colored glasses) that there will be another spin-off to carry on the Buffyverse (in addition to Angel). Hopefully Joss won't decide to develop his Ripper idea and instead offers Eliza her own show.

    Booooo...

What's "the ripper" idea? Surely not Jack the ...

Eliza getting her own would be cool.

I haven't watched the show in 3 years, but I thought the series went flat when Angel and Cordelia left and they all went to college. But the first 3 seasons were pretty good.

I wonder if Buffy (the character) is gonna die? If there are spinoffs, what will they do with her character?

Ripper was Giles nickname, so he was going to do a show all about Giles. I think he was planning on calling it Ripper, but it may have been Giles. I always thought he was the most forgettable character though, and I can't see a whole show developing around him.

While there was some dropoff in season 4 with the whole initiative thing, I think the last few years have been the strongest on the show. They have major characters who are gay, all the characters have major flaws, and they have developed serious relationships outside of Buffy/Angel. Not to mention the steady improvment in the already good writing.

For anyone that enjoys dialogue, comedy, interpersonal relationships, well choreographed fight scenes, and the pervasive beautiful people element that is always important in Hollywood, I recommend watching this show before it is gone. Also, all of the episodes are available on p2p networks, 22 eps per season after season 1(12 eps).

Yea I heard they may do a Faith spinoff series. If they do, I would watch it JUST FOR Eliza Dushku, she is so damn hot. I noticed her back in True Lies but loved her in Bring it On and loved her ever since. I do admit though, other than Bring It On and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, her movies suck, although I forgive her doing the New Guy just because of that one scene in the mall. :D

Sadly enough, that "one other poster" is me. I was the one (and only one) who listed Buffy as their favorite TV show in another thread. Buffy will be severely missed. The show is so good, I've even managed to get my fiancee (who absolutely abhors SMG) hooked on the series.

This season kicks ass and is running on all cylinders. Here's hoping the show goes out with a bang.

First, Farscape. Then, Firefly. Now, Buffy.

    *sigh*

I guess there's always Simpsons and Seinfeld reruns to fall back on...

Well, given the fact that SMG says that "The show as we know it is over," I think that Joss already has a plan down (in pencil, at least) for some sort of spinoff. Hopefully, it will involve Faith (Eliza = goodness) and some of the Scooby gang. Also, as long as Spike survives I'm happy. I'm going to be seriously pissed if Spike makes some sort of "noble sacrifice" to save Buffy in the finale.

Agreed. I watched the show far less often after that.

Eliza Dushku signed on for another pilot already, though, so she's likely contractually obligated, at least in the near-term, to that show, making her unavailable for a Buffy spin-off series.

I assume Faith is going to get killed off when she returns at the end of this season and one of the potentials that are in the house now will become the Slayer. But I'm just guessing.

I remmeber reading before the beginning of this season that Anthony Stewart Head had signed on with the BBC for a British Buffy spinoff. I assume that that is still the case.

Plus, check out this recent article about post-Gellar options.

Eliza has a pilot for FOX so if it gets picked up expect it to be cancelled by next year's Superbowl. Didn't they already try this with Dark Angel? How about a Seth Green spin off?

I really hope the series finale is better than The X-Files one.
Here's my Top Ten BTVS Episodes (minus the remaining 6):

    1. "The Body" (Season 5) - Buffy's mom dies
    2. "Becoming Part 2" (Season 2) - Buffy kills Angel
    3. "Once More With Feeling" (Season 6) - The Musical Episode
    4. "Hush" (Season 4) - The Silent Episode
    5. "The Wish" (Season 3) - The Alternate Reality Episode
    6. "Prophecy Girl" (Season 1) - Buffy dies!
    7. "Restless" (Season 4) - The Weird Dreams Episode
    8. "The Gift" (Season 5) - Buffy dies again!!
