There was a story on bskball.com three days saying there would be an announement within the next twenty four hours confirming a Jermaine O'Neal for Bulls number four pick trade. I guess I missed the announcement, because surely this wasn't another made up story from the site that hosts the sporting world's leading journalist BILL tHE rOCKET gUY.

    A joke?.....

    That is what is funny.....

Even funnier is that you beleive the content arrives from NBATalk.com... Get it right..Its ProSportsPages.com

Has NBATalk ever created content...or have they just badly linked to newspaper articles? Do you honestly beleive they have exclusive rights to newspapers?... and that newspapers are the only source for information out there?

As for the Jermaine O'Neal piece... read the posting again...

"from an informed source near the Portland Trailblazers. It appears that the Chicago Bulls and the Blazers--MAY HAVE-- consummated a deal sending Jermaine O'Neal and future considerations to the Chicago Bull for the #4 pick in the 2000 draft. Internal sources at both teams declined comment, but a Bulls source did acknowledge--IF IT WERE A DONE DEAL--, it would be announced within the next 24 hours."

Its also funny how the day after I posted this piece... O'Neal moved out of his Portland home, and Realtors'sign now sits in the yard.

Even funnier was he was on Portland Radio saying he liked Portland and would love to retrunt their but he needed more playing time to develope into the All-Star he feels he could be.

I don't think BskBALL.com is the joke... the joke is people who don't read what they choose to smack on.

And don't bag on Bill The Rocket Guy, he is one of the most knowledgeable Rocket Fans out there and a hell of nice guy.

Nothin' but love... but you need to stop hating.

I appreciate the effort that you guys give bskball, I just wish/think that the content could be displayed more attractively. I wouldn't mind if you were to tell me the exact same thing every other site does, I just think that you guys could put forth better effort in the design.

Look at all of the beautiful sports sites:
    clutchcity,
    nba.com
    insidehoops
    the list goes on...

Mmmm... pretty colors, attractive fonts, people that usually run 'spell check' on the text they display.

Let me point this out again:
    <font size="3" color="003366">COLORS</font> and

    <font size="4" name="Tahoma">Varying</font>
    <font size="2" name="Verdana">fonts</font>

Just my opinion, and the best of luck to you, always.

Whoa. I just went back and it looks like you guys have a different layout, new logo, etc.

Can you guys now get rid of the circa 1993 bg. image of the hardwood? [IMG]

Just my opinion (again), best of luck.

    I agree with Achebe.

I dont like that hardwood stuff.

Or how the rumor stuff appears small in the middle of the screen(unless that has changed .. been maybe a month or so). How bout just a seperate page for rumors and stuff like that. It is usually kind of long and hard to read when its all compact.

Bill is okay, but sometimes he isnt as knowledgeable as he thinks he is. It took him quite awhile to figure out the salary cap. At least three months. And all that time he kept saying that Duncan or Grant Hill was a real possibilty of coming to Houston THIS summer cause Hakeem was going to retire.

But he still has a quality site, as does bskball. Keep improving and growing. Basketball is good.

I think that bskball.com does a good job.

It's understood that what he hears are
rumors and such, but honestly, does he do
a worse job than Vescey? Stephen A. Smith?
    David Aldridge? Phil Taylor?

What I have seen is that he works to find the
    truth.

Just my thoughts, take them for the $0.02
    they are worth.

I am not sure what you mean specifically with the rumors section.... Send me mail directly and I will address the issue with you and make sure we're on the same page.

As for Bill and the Salary cap... Bill has never pretended to be anything but a Rockets fan.... No one understands the salary cap.... I own a copy of the CBA, I have read it cover to cover several times, and I still am wrong on occassion... I think the only person I know that is really 100% on the cap is Larry Coon and the gang at the CBA FAQ.

I appreciate the company some of you have placed me in..... I do the same job they do, but I try not to be too sensationalized.... its easy to do... I understand why Vecsey throws out as much junk as he does.... When I am on top of something I am the man.... the only way to get around something that was not right...is to be on top again.... I think Vecsey's theory is throw enough out somethings gonna stick.....

Seriously, my site like Clutchcity... is for the fans... its not for self proliferation... If there is something you don't like, something you want to see.... e-mail me... I answer all of my mail.... without exception.

Hey wow this is getting exciting now. Come on now lets get a few things right. It's sportstalk.com, not nbatalk.com. As for your site being a more credible source of information, please. Come on I could set up a site re-hash all the information from the web and look knowledgeable. All I don't is you try to claim the fact that you have all these sources and all this know how, more so than guys/girls who work on local papers. Those who work on the team week in week out, those who get to know people. Although most of what they say is rubbish, it appears more qualified rubbish then what you give us.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against your site, nor you, nor against Bill the Rocket Guy, your all obviously big fans of the nba. But let's not get sidetracked your fans and that's all, so don't come trying to tell us that you have all this knowledge when you know no more than the next nba fan and the users of the board.

    Who?

I am sorry you feel the way you do.....

But don't try and assume you know anything about who I speak with, or where I go.....

Sportstalk.com is a good site for newspaper information..... thats it.

Prosportspage.com is the best site--without the hype!

Everything Sportstalk has claimed to be an exclusive... is far from accurate.

As for reading newspapers.... I think every sports fan reads the newspapers.... Who wouldn't... but if you beleive that all of my content arrives from the newspaper...your mistaken.....

my content arrives from a variety of places... and typically it starts with a newspaper story... as a fan you want clarity and whats been said.... Thats what I provide.

I read a story or hear a headline, and I pick up the phone, send out some e-mail and find out whats what.

I have never claimed to be anything but an informed fan with a Rolodex... I talk with NBA fans the world over on a daily basis.... I speak to the league, the union, the agents, the players, their friends, their business partners, their aunts, uncles and cousins. I talk to reporters, radio hosts, bookies, loan sharks, shoe reps, and limo drivers. I have even had the chance to speak with a few financial advisors.

There is a reason my site traffic grows, and I am quoted on other sites... because 9 times out 10, what I say...others say 2 days later... When I say someone is getting traded, they typically get traded.

My track record speaks for itself.

If you don't like me, then don't talk about me..... If you talk about me... I will defend myself, my position, my friends and my associates.

But don't think I am going to let you mimimize my efforts without a response.

Bskball guy, don't get down. I too feel your site is perfectly fine. Design is completely opinion based anyways. I do feel the design of CC.Net is a little classier whereas most of the others that are hashing out a large amount of stories, etc are a little overloaded and thus hard to read. But your not trying to win any awards. You're just trying to give the information thats out there. Personally I think you do that and you do that well. I mean youre rumors section is correctly titled RUMORS cause that is what they are. Most rumors don't come true. A lot are very fact based though. JErmaine Oneal has yet to be traded. But then again, Lenny Wilkens is the nex Raptors coach.. You win some you lose some. Keep up the work youre doing.
