Anyone still watching this show? I still can't believe the sci-fi channel is ending it after only 4 seasons. It just seems so abrupt.. and there are too many different storylines that still need to be explained and/or fleshed out. I doubt they will fully explain everything in the 2 hour finale... they'll probably leave some cliffhangers for the new show.. Caprica. Anyways, I thought this show was awesome from the get go... don't understand why it never really caught on with the mainstream public.
I'm still watching it and look forward to the finale. I think they are ending the series at the right time instead of dragging it on. Since the events in Caprica will occur before BSG, not sure how many loose ends it will tie up. How many shows on Sci-Fi have ever caught on with the general public? I mean it as an honest question.
I felt like the last three weeks could've been condensed into one episode. The flashbacks were nice, but a little late into the series. Totally looking forward to the finale.
This season has sucked except for the mutiny episodes, which was season 1 quality stuff. I'm watching it since it's ending so soon and it's not that much to endure. I think the show took a turn for the worse when they took too much of the mystery away from the cylons, turned half the main characters into cyclons, etc. Baltar was an awesome character, now he's just stupid. More gripes that I don't want to think about right now.
I'm definitely looking forward to tonight's series finale. Unlike a lot of BSG fans, I think the show has actually been quite good throughout.
couldn't agree more. i thought the 2nd season was good too, but then it became boring as all hell. also forced myself to watch this season because its the final one. i can barely follow what's going on anymore. it's gotten ridiculous and they turned it into a totally seperate show than it was in its initial seasons.
I quit watching. I tried to watch it all the way through, but really, landing on the planet was a little lame, and when Lee married that girl it was blah. It got so convoluted. I still held out though until the "everyone is cyclon!!!!" storyline starting moving. I tried to deal with it, but it was just too dumb imo. I gave up on it. Perhaps someday I'll go back and watch the dvds if the last season gets good reviews.
It went down hill fast I have one question . . . WHERE THE HELL ARE THE CENTURIANS! I understand the replication ship got destroyed but that was for the 'skin jobs' Centurians had been around for quite some time before the 'skin jobs' came. . . am I to beleive they only had 1 Replication ship for all of them?? Shouldn't they have been trying to Kill Cavil and them for Lobotomizing them or Did I miss an episode/throw away line to explain this Rocket River
It's good but not enough action IMO. It reminds me of a soap opera set in space. I miss laser fights and viper fights with cyclon raiders. Even though the original was not nearly as deep as this show, you could always count on the action. If there is no more real battle scenes, then just end it already. The only thing I'm left wondering is if Starbuck will truly lead them all to their demise tonight...as the hot tub cylons have indicated she would.
It descended into the wondering why Starbuck and Baltar have sexed everyone in the fleet but each other Rocket River
they have. i forgot which season, but they did it after a card game and starbuck said lee instead of gaius and thats how baltar knows she has feeling for him.
Well I've enjoyed the show a ton. And even though I'll miss it, I think every show needs an endpoint, and this is pretty much it. I'm convinced they'll leave some unresolved storylines, but that's the writers fault, not the fault of the show ending. They've had filler episodes in just these last ten episodes that could've fleshed out a lot more than they did. I think the only thing I'll b**** about is the Starbuck/Lee love parallelogram. Oh my god that was so annoying. And nobody cared about it. As much as I don't buy where Lee's character has ended up, it's a welcome change in comparison to the the love-sick sniveling b**** he was before. Now THAT part of the show was soap opera ****.
I actually don't like the space battle scenes that much. Sound effects in space is one of my major Sci-fi pet peeves.
Me too. I used to not care (because I didn't know) but after I got the smarts in the brain, it has really started to bother me with these loud explosions and fire, and engines and stuff....I don't know...just bugs me.
I've never watched a single episode, yet so many people say it is "frakin" awesome. I guess I'll have to watch the DVDs like I did with Firefly. BTW, did you guys hear that Sci Fi is changing their name to ScyFy? WTF
it lost my attention after the 1st couple of episodes into the 2nd season do they actually find earth?
Just like science fiction isn't all about space battles and laser fights, BSG isn't an action series. It's still a space opera, but I think the expectations are off on this one. That said, there might be a space fight or two in the finale...
Still watching. Like others, I think they are ending it at the right time, but not necessarily doing the best job of it. We'll see. Definitely agree with this criticism. I mean they are clearly doing it to promote the Caprica series, but still...I was actually more drawn in on some of the flashbacks then a lot of the other stuff this year...should have done it earlier, and now you are thinking "a little late" The diminishing of Baltar, imo, has been one of the shows biggest downfalls. A lot of the flashbacks focused on his history, which I found interesting. I'd agree that there was probably too much Baltar at many points earlier in the series, but there is definitely too little now. They've tried making him more central the last few episodes. All in all, I agree. Some things I haven't liked, but that's often a sign of actually still enjoying a show. In the beginning, it had the potential to be one of the greatest sci-fi shows of all time. That they didn't reach that potential is a little disappointing, BUT I still found the whole thing very very very enjoyable.
After the first couple last week, I started fast forwarding through them. May have to sit down and watch the pilot tonight before I watch the finale.wish Comcast had SciFi in HD.
