Wow i cant stand listening to Gumbel call a football game, his feministic monotone voice makes me sick. Earlier they had a sick Dick Vermeil as the color commentator with a raspy inaudible voice, it was the worst announce team I have ever heard. They replaced Vermeil at halftime, too bad they didnt replace Gumbel as well. At least Collinsworth isnt there, I cant stand him either. NFL network did a terrible job picking their game voices. I even tried to listen to the radio broadcast but it was too far ahead of my directv game feed.
Okay, I was gonna come in and defend gumble a bit, but you're right about the voice. It just doesn't work well on nfl broadcasts. he has gotten better with his knowledge but he will never get over the voice and he's still making mistakes. for example, he called the playclock the shotclock. just little things like that. edit: pretty good game btw.
Seriously. NFL Network is demanding how much money to be put on Cable TV and this is the quality they put out to broadcast their games? I kept thinking something was wrong with my sound, because Vermeil kept talking like there was a loose wire on my TV speakers. Gumble is ****ing atrocious. ****ing Atrocious. And pgab you should be defending him anyway, he hasn't been black since he started wearing those small glasses and pronouncing his Rs. I mean, its ****ing laughable how bad this was. Gumble "Romo gets the snap off before the shot clock expires" Gumble "What did you think about that call Coach" Vermeil "Its a draw" Gumble "Yes we know its a draw, what did you think about it" And the worst part was that TO touchdown catch. BG didn't even know it was a TD. and I mean sometimes it is hard to know, but I mean everyone knew it was a TD. THE COWBOYS WERE CELEBRATING AND THEY PUT 6 POINTS UP ON THE ****ING SCOREBOARD.... and BG is still speaking softly like "Oh... well it appeared to be good coverage by Hall and now the fans are calling for a flag" **** you Bryant Gumble. You don't know ****. **** you, **** you **** you and die in a fire.

I have a strong dislike for Bryant Gumble simply because he was the voice on the TODAY show during many of my grade school years. That voice reminds me of having to wake up early with a cold on winter school days. Kicking off the morning with some Vick's DayQuil and Orange Juice, and a side of Swanson's Microwaveable blueberry pancakes... only to get on my BMX bike and ride against a north wind to school, six blocks away. Yech! Game was entertaining though.
