That would be interesting, but I don't think Morey would call that a minor trade. That kind of move might be possible if Deke isn't coming back.

Jeff Foster is a really nice backup C.

I love Hayes' hustle and Novak's shot but you gotta give to get. I would love to ditch Head.

I would do a deal like this if it is a real option. It addresses two needs for us: 1) Getting a legit backup for Yao and 2) Cutting down the roster.

Again, I have heard nothing to make me believe this is going to happen.

    Brooks: 1. Better dribbling skills
    2. Better at attacking the basket off the dribble
    3. Better shooter under pressure
    4. Quicker and faster
    5. Better jumping ability

Head: 1. Better defender right now due to height and experience

***Brooks won the college 3 point contest so I don't know if Head really a better spot up shooter than Brooks.

This is what Head did in his Summer League opportunity: http://www.insidehoops.com/summer-league-minnesota.shtml

He didn't even finish in the top 15 scorers out of 5 teams. Brooks was dominant in his first Summer League that included far more teams.

The only thing Head did especially well was get steals. He wasn't even close to the most dominant player on the Rockets. That easily goes to Lonnie Baxter, who led all players in scoring.

Summer league doesn't translate into regular season and certainly not post season. Head has come up clutch a couple of times. Just by that he has done more than Brooks. Oh btw, that trade would be sweet plus we get another expiring.

at least someone is trying to stir up new conversation instead of posting the same tired "t-mac to the pistons" threads.

personally I think they are both sub par PG's with limited potential, kinda like.....hmmmm Alston?

Looks like Brooks is owning Head and I am sure a few people voted for Head just because they don't like me.

I wish the Rox would grow some nutes and trade rafer, francis, and luther. Start brooks, livewith his ups and downs like the spurs did and move on. They can always sign dooling as a backup. Rafer is what he is which is below avg, francis is washed up, head can't run a nbdl offense and jackson is, jackson. Stop yanking my chain with older sub par play and lets go forward.

That is an outstanding trade, and Foster is better than Deke by a mile at this stage in their careers....He could actually play about 16-20 minutes a night and get Yao down to an efficient 32 mpg or so.

Well said. He couldn't even run a collegiate offense.

Wow brooks is winning a pole on a message board full of people that hate him/blame him for our playoff losses. Im stunned!! If Brooks had shown enough at any point to even warrent playing time maybe people would have a better guage to judge him by. Since he showed the coaching staff (that was very high on him I might add) nothing, they went out and signed an old vet (Jackson) put him at the end of the bench behind that old vet and Refer. That says alot right there.

I havent seen a single person in this thread that thinks Brooks is better than Head give a logical reason why they think that way. The only reason that comes close to being reasonable is POTENTIAL. Brooks's potential has done nothing for this team. Has it made any contribution? Has it won us any games? NO! Does head actually get meaningfull minutes? YES! Does Brooks? NO! Head > Brooks. PERIOD!! Its obvious the coaching staff feels this way.

Agree about your strengths/weaknesses of Head.

But you downplay Brooks' weaknesses. How about his subpar court vision/passing instincts? How about his habit of using his blazing speed to drive to nowhere in particular (at times)? How about his natural instincts to score first, pass second, even though he's sub 6'?

Would you rather burn to death or freeze to death? Would you rather eat a hair salad sandwich or a plate of casu marzu (I had to look that one up :p )?

With our current pgs (alston and bjax) getting up in age i think the rockets are going to need some fresh legs to run the court, I feel safer with the ball in Brooks' hands than in luthers

If we compare them as SG, then Head is way better than Brooks, because Brooks can't play SG in NBA.

If we compare them as PG, then Brooks is way better than Head, because Head can't play PG at all..

However, this poll is very misleading, because we really are comparing apple to orange...

Damn we really do hate Head. I kind of feel sorry for him that the only thing he can do it shoot.

Luther is a better player right now... at least during the regular season.
