I am thinking about getting one instead of home service, can anybody tell me how much is the difference and who has the best service. I have used a ATT card and is was ok but I did not do much online stuff with it, just loged on to Outlook and my work Database, it seemed to work fine.
Before doing that, do you happen to have a cell phone that can be used as a modem? I can hook my Samsung into my computer's USB port and it acts as a modem. Since I have unlimited data, it works out well.
I have used ATT, Tmobile and Sprints Card and the best one out of all of them was the Sprint card. It was just so much faster than any of the other cards.
Agreed. Specifically the Sierra Wireless AC595. This works with a Linksys Router also. I have no DSL or Cable broadband where I live, so I've had to rely on mobile broadband. Sprint, by far, has the best speeds. I get 2000kbps down (would probably get more, but I'm out in BFE amongst the trees) and about 500kbps up. With my company discount, I get a discount and pay only about $50/mo.
I tested both Sprint and AT&T over Christmas. Sprint was faster- but to be honest, it wasn't a huge difference, not enough to deal with Sprint's horrible customer service.
I will agree with this too. Sprint's CS is some of the worst I've ever dealt with. I mean BAD. Unfortunately, I am stuck with them as their service is the only one that works where I live. Their store manager in Tomball, Anthony, is awesome though. I had multiple issues and have started going in to see him instead of calling CS. He has taken care of any issues I've had very quickly. I highly recommend buying from his store if anyone is out that way.
I have an account with Sprint and use a Sierra Wireless USB 595. Maybe once a day I have to reboot the computer to start fresh, but overall it works well. Check for the Sprint coverage in the main areas you will be using it. Towwer maps
We do, hell I'm on a call helping out a customer at the moment <--- works in Verizon Wireless Call Center, just like 3 others that post here but left me solo here as for my opinion, if u want unlimited connection, we don't offer it anymore, only a 5 gig/month plan PC cards are the way to go too, USB modems are good also, but are inconsistant as far as issues. while PCMCIA/Expresscards are more consistant and reliable
