It doesn't get any better than watching golf on Sunday morning. Ok, maybe watching golf with one of the p*rn stars from the other thread, but you get my drift. Tiger vs Sergio. I expect Sergio to crumble under the pressure.
Tiger pulling off an eagle under those dry conditions shows how great a player he is. Tiger vs. "Di-cka"? Sorry Bears fans...Tiger =)
F*CK friggin' Tiger, Rio... I hate his spoiled ass... Tiger is about to swing... then there is some sound... he stops in disgust... and looks back at the crowd and says: "It's the cameraphones." YOU F*CKI*NG W*MP. F*ck*ng sw*ng, you *ss wipe... who gives a sh*t if someone in the crowd farts or tries to take a picture of you with his cameraphone??? I freakin' hate golf for that sh*t. Imagine if Peyton Manning asks the referees to make the crowd get quiet because he can't get his audible calls to his receivers, or if Dwayne Wade doesn't shoot a free-throw because the crowd in the back is "using their cameraphones." WTF is up with that...? And don't come back with no "ettiquette" sh*t...
You obviously have no understanding of the game of golf. If any other golfer had to go through those distractions, their reaction would be exactly the same. ESPN is absolutely nutting themselves due to the back stories of both contenders right now. I'm rooting for DiMarco, but it's cool to see Tiger back.
Oh, I understand golf. It's the degree of the sound decibel level or whatever the freak you want to call it. The cameraphone's shutter or sound or whatever didn't even register on the HDTV microphones... it's just Tiger whining. OK, let's put it a different way... so if you and a buddy were out there playing and he spoke while you swung, you wouldn't swing while he was speaking? C'mon.
I love how you're trying to judge someone's response to something that's happening 3,000 miles away from you and only a couple feet away from Tiger. Obviously, you don't understand golf.
OK, I've given it a shot... I have been watching since my first b****ing. So there are more noises and sh*t, and people talking and stuff, and others don't whine as much as Tiger. There are even engines running in the background, planes and other stuff. Mind me and you, he's a cool cat and never curses and always shows class, but I thought stopping from swinging off the tee because of a CAMERAPHONE was too much. I can understand someone talking, someone yelling, or someone heckling him... ok, but a CAMERAPHONE, man... just outright funny. OK, I have been watching for a while... I am definitely NOT understanding golf at all, like you said. Like you say, I must understand GOLF in order to know why Tiger stopped from swinging. Cool, I'll go with that.
You obviously don't watch much golf. Tiger curses quite a bit. When noises are constant (helicopters, blimps, planes, cars, etc.) it's one thing. When a player is getting ready to hit, he can mask all of the constant stuff out. When things are then relatively quiet and an unexpected sound occurs, golfers tend to back off. Others may not appear to whine as much as Tiger, but no one is taking pictures of the nondescript players. Tiger has more gallery following him than anyone else on the corse, he tends to have more camera coverage than anyone else on the course, so, of coure, you will see him back off more than anyone else.
Thank you for writing that, so I didn't have to. If you don't like golf and don't understand why the small distractions and camera phones would bother someone, then you probably have never played the game and tried to understand it. With that being said, Tiger is awesome, i'm so glad he's back on top. For me, its so much better to see a finely tuned athlete with fierce competitiveness win these majors than some "whatever, ho hum" slob like Phil Mickelson. Tiger is back and I loved getting up this morning and watching championship golf especially with the two stories. I like Chris Dimarco too, he's never backed down from Tiger and I like that.
I only know that when I'm playing , constant noises don't bother me , I can have a guy weedeating the next whole and it's not problem; but sudden noises or changes in noises bothers the hell out of me. It's like your brain loses focus on what you doing to see what the new noise is. Non-golfers also need to remember that the tolerance in a good shot is very very small. A ball is only actually on the club face for a couple of thousandths of a second. A difference of only one degree in the impact of the club face on the ball open or closed can make a shot miss by 20 yards left or right. If something makes you flinch, even the tiniest bit it can cost you big time, especially in the Majors when a one shot swing for players at the top of the leader board could cost you $100,000.
Regardless of what people may think of Tiger (and I like him) to see him break down crying like he did after the winning put was moving.
I have to admit, I teared up a little...Great story for both he and DiMarco to battle through a rough emotional patch and play lights out...
Then why "play" golf if you're going to be distracted? I don't get it. Professionals getting paid millions to win tournaments should be able to mask out even the SLIGHTEST of distractions. Eff the "you messed up my shot" crap. EXHIBIT A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF3t0bG3kRM&search=budweiser referee If you have to tell me to shut the f*ck up every time you're about to tee off, then golf is definitely NOT a sport.
Vince McMahon needs to start the XGL (Xtreme Golf League), where the crowds can be as loud as they want and take lots of pics with really bright flashes, the players can heckle each other, and tig bitted chicks in bikinis holding up the flags when the players putt...
I agree with Swoly... Tennis is another one... why are people so quiet during the play? Professional athletes should be able to deal with that kind of thing. And by the way, a little hitch can also make a free throw clang.
