...to take a Laker front office position at 37 years of age. That's kind of young, no? Lakers guard Brian Shaw retiring, taking front office position ASSOCIATED PRESS 12:53 p.m. September 23, 2003 http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/nba/20030923-1253-bkn-lakers-shaw.html EL SEGUNDO – Lakers guard Brian Shaw is retiring after 14 NBA seasons to take a front office position with Los Angeles. The 37-year-old Shaw won three NBA titles in four seasons with the Lakers. The team planned a news conference for Wednesday to announce Shaw's new position. The 6-foot-6 guard was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1988 out of University of California-Santa Barbara. He played with Boston, Miami, Orlando, Golden State, Philadelphia, Portland and Los Angeles, and averaged 6.9 points in 943 NBA games. He averaged a career-best 13.8 points for Boston in 1990-91, his second season. So what were your favorite Brian Shaw moments? Mine was when he was (briefly) a Rocket.
Mine was when the Rockets won the second championship, and they showed the Magic gather at midcourt for their season, they showed Shaw, flinch (sp?) when the fireworks went off.
He was Rocket when he was acquired in the pippen trade along with Cato, the wizard and the other baggages...
Man. I don't got any favourite Shaw moment. Can't stand the player. As far as I'm concerned it's about time he retires.
