Barry would be a great replacement for Wells. Great shoot and passer, excellent size. He could probably play some PG for us as well, if necessary. Get it done, Morey!
The Spurs got under luxury tax after making the Kurt Thomas trade. They're about 393k under tight now. It depends on how much Barry's prorated contract will cost. Rockets are 669k. Hopefully his contract is around 500k so the Spurs can't afford him.
we tried to pry him but to no avail back to the jvg days. i say we should try again if indeed he gets waived.
Brent Barry is injured with a calf injury. Played only a handful of games this year. Came back out and reinjured it again. Risky to pickup Barry.
He's due back from injury in a week. IMO waiving Haluska for Barry isn't a risk. Haluska isn't going to play and he's here as an expiring contract anyway.
Brent Barry is the palyer that the Rockets really need in playoff. If we can get him, I think the rockets will pass the 1st round, maybe even go farther..
cutting haluska and signing barry is a no brainer. even if he gets injured...are we giving up anything in haluska?
Rockets hold a team option for next season. So he's essentially an expiring contract. This is his season: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4320/gamelog;_ylt=A9G_byE6OL1Hq6MAMQKkvLYF
exactly my point. why the hell would people not want to cut this guy and sign barry? if there is a better swing man available to sign right now i'd like to hear it. and signing him doesn't rule out a trade for wing help either.
This brings quite a bit of deja vu here. Didn't Jon Barry retire from our team because of a calf injury too? Better not be the case. Doesn't bode well that Brent came back and reinjured it. I'd pick him up in a heartbeat once he's cut. He's better and more athletic than JB was that's for sure. I think he might still have a couple more years left in the tank if he gets past this calf injury.
