Don't know but why in the world would LA want to SnT Ariza for Artest? Makes no sense at all. Doesn't help them one bit. Probably hurts them.

Dribble dribble dribble, shot clock running down. "I know, a fade away three pointer falling to my left is the best option," thought the Tru Warrior. Thanks for the second round Ron, it had been a while. I was fun while it lasted!

So, now we are on to something. Obviously, Morey is going to get Artest on his terms or he is going to use Artest in a S&T. That is unless Artest goes bezerko and decides to accept somebody's MLE with an opt out which is highly unlikely.

So the question is..........what teams does Artest want to play for? And then the next question is what teams that he wants to play for want him to play for them?

I know the Lakers are allegedly interested. But I think most of that is driven by Kobe. Kobe would like to have him and would probably take Artest over Odom. I don't know if the Lakers would do a S&T of Artest for Odom though. But there is a possible play there with either Odom or Ariza.

The next team I would think Artest wants it the Knicks. But I don't know if the Knicks would really want him unless they were able to dump salary. Would Artest for David Lee be possible in a S&T? Don't know. How about Mobley or Al Harrington? I wouldn't mind one of those contracts to add to McGrady's and the others and possibly make a big time move on New Orleans, sending them McGrady and Mobley's expirings along with Cook, Barry, Landry, and Brooks for PJ, Chandler, CP3, and James Posey. That would leave us with CP3, Posey, Battier, Yao(Chandler), and Scola as our starting 5 with Lowry, Hayes, Dorsey, Jermaine, and Chase coming off the bench. Not real deep but once Yao recovers, that gives us a pretty good top 7 guys.

I don't see too many teams really wanting Artest besides possible championship contenders looking to add a final piece.

I think it's a bunch of noise. The Rockets and the Fakers in a deal? Not likely. It's more likely that we could deal with Cleveland, or just let him walk, with a pat on the back for his effort.

Oh well....now Artest can sign with a contender, and we can go in full tank mode I guess. I don't see who the hell scores for us next year. I am expecting major sucktitude...or as some say, rebuilding.

I just hope he doesn't go to LA.

I do like the decisiveness of Morey here. I thought a one year deal would be the best for us, but it was a ballsy gambit to more or less say "take it or leave it".

Somewhere DaDakota is happy about this at least.

Expect us to let Mcgradys contract expire and Yao should just opt out next year so we can have all the money in the world.

I can handle a year of rebuilding. Any longer I would be very perturbed.

After Yao Ming's injury, it makes sense for both parties to part ways.

While the Rockets made their pursuit of a center their top free agent priority, Ron Artest seemed ready to move on when a message appeared on Twitter late Wednesday attributed to him.

The message — "THANKS A LOT HOUSTON :) I HAD A LOT OF FUN." — seemed to indicate that Artest had chosen to sign elsewhere. The Rockets, however, were given an indication that Artest did not write the message.

Artest’s agent David Bauman had said that returning to Houston was Artest’s top choice and that he did not expect or request a late Tuesday meeting when the free agent period was ready to begin.

The Rockets, however, had made their pursuit of Orlando center Marcin Gortat their top priority.

Artest averaged 17.1 points on 40.1 percent shooting , 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season, initially coming off the bench when Tracy McGrady and Shane Battier were healthy but then picking up an increasingly important role throughout the season after McGrady was unable to come back from his knee problems.

The Rockets had traded last season’s first round pick, Donte’ Greene, and this season’s first-round selection to get Artest

    well....

Oh well, bye bye Ron. Our team should just tank out the season... we have no SG... no bench... possibly no Yao... what's the point of even trying to compete? Western Conf... you need close to 50 wins to get in to the playoffs.

Hmm interesting. Ron may not have tweeted that but Mark Berman still did report that it was unlikely he resigns here.
