Thanks for everything Ron. It was a wild, fun year. Just let him go people. No S&T...we don't want Varejao on this team.

His account has to be hacked or something. You can't even sign with teams until the 8th, so him signing is bull.

Plus, this article says he didn't even right "THANKS ALOT HOUSTON.:) I HAD ALOT OF FUN:)"

If Morey's only offering a one year deal for some reason, and Artest obviously wants more, then how about pursuing a SnT with the Wizards for Mike Miller?

    Why Washington does it:
Miller had a very, very down season in Minnesota. Ron had a much better year overall. If they're looking to contend in the east again, they're better served running with Artest and Butler on the wings. They'd be much better defensively and Ron has learned how to shoot with his feet set. They won't have cap space next year even if they let Miller expire, so why not go for the talent upgrade? They can address their needs at center and their bench later.

    Why Houston does it:
Honestly, I wouldn't even want to do it. We should just let Artest go. Maybe we can get a couple of picks out of Toronto via SnT if their pursuit of Turkoglu is fruitless. We don't need immediate help, we need to rebuild.

But if Morey insists on getting some help, we could do worse than having Miller fill in for Artest and McGrady. Yeah, he had a horrible year but he was still efficient from the field and good on the boards. I've wanted him for a long time, so why not go after him while his stock is low and his contract has no effect on our cap space? In many ways, he'll help us more than Artest will at SG. He might even be able to teach Budinger a thing or two.

Best case scenario: he rebounds back into form, Tmac and Yao come back at the all-star break healthy and ready, and we go a monster playoff push and win the championship. *pinches self*

    1. Supposedly Ferry was in LA, so there's a small chance it's w/ Cleveland.
    2. Could be LA, of course.
    3. How can anyone sign a contract now? Don't you have to wait until the 8th?
    4. It's Ron...he could be pulling a joke on all of us now.

The Cavs board has been getting tons of replies like this one. Many are guessing it's just a record deal thing.

Has to be a record deal. CD just asked him if it was a music deal or an nba deal...Ron avoided the question by saying "I signed a deal"

Good decision. Too much uncertainty already in the future to add on a multi-year contract for Ron Artest, the ultimate wildcard.
