There was some talk of Brad being sent to Miami for Tim Hardaway in a sign-and-trade. The Heat would be foolish not to pull the trigger on this deal if in fact it was presented to them. Brad makes $4.4 million next season and $4.8 million the season after. Then he would be a free agent again. Miller seems like he would be the ideal center for this team. He hustles, grabs tough rebounds, can draw opposing centers out of the paint, and can shoot free throws rather well. It seems to me that our best two options are a trade for Miller who is obviously available or Marc Jackson. I think a deal could be made involving Shandon and/or KT. Maybe the Bulls would be interested in Walt since he comes off the books after this season, and we all know how much Krause likes his cap room. Thoughts?
I'm not overly impressed with Miller considering he didn't play much last year and makes too much to be a backup. I wouldn't mind getting Bo Outlaw from Orlando. He's very athletic and can block shots. Not much offense but with francis, mobley, and taylor, we should be okay in that area.
While I wouldn't mind adding Outlaw to the current mix, he cannot play the Center position. I brought up Miller as a viable option at Center since our alternatives aren't too peachy.
Is it possible that the Rockets want a stop-gap center (McCoy, Pig) for a year or two while EG beefs up, say, adding another 25 pounds (or more, if the gods are smiling)? 250 pounds for a center wouldn't be too bad; Dream only weighs about 260/5 or so. I would trade Cato for Miller or maybe Walt for Miller, but I wonder about Eddie and where he'll play on this team. Mo will play 4/5, I guess. Could Eddie be our future 5?
Miller is a starter on quite a few teams in the league. He'd start in Houston......no question. The guy can rebound and has some good post moves and a decent shot from 15-18 ft. Chicago (Krause) is inept at times, but they surely would not trade Miller for Hardaway and his two bad wheels. Would they?
