sp I was just wondering what u guys and girls think about Bowling for Columbine film? Me myself think its a very good movie
What do I think? I'm not paying to watch anything that Michael Moore has his hands in. Just my opinion.
Sure, it's a great movie for the American-hating socialists. Great movie for that. There have been 2 or 3 threads on this topic already. Here is a link to the most recent: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64365
Let´s change this subject: Now this is a Mullholland drive thread.......Does anyone inderstand the meening with that movie? cause I got somewhat lost when I saw it......so do anyone have any answers or question for that movie? who also is very good!
Before the hammer drops on this thread, I would just like to take this time to say that Michael Moore is a big fat greasy disgusting delusional communist hillbilly butter-hog. And I say that with the greatest of respect. Thank you.
You guys really ought to step back and ask yourself why you're jumping to such brash conclusions, and not only that, truly ask if your misinformed hatred is justified.
bigt, not to drag this discussion down, but there's no need for those epithets. What if, every time, you posted an article from the national review online, I would say "sure, that's a greate magazine for white supremacist fascist bigots!" Namecalling by classification and implication is still namecalling. Cool it.
Two things: 1. This thread doesn't belong here, it belongs in D & D. Keep the hangout civilized. 2. And Michael Moore is an America-hating, uninformed, socialist, cinematic assassin masquerading as a serious documentary filmmaker. I'm not dropping names, I'm just simply stating what the guy is based on his views (I watched Bowling for Columbine and read Stupid White Men), which fit all of the adjectives affixed before his name.
I dont think he hates america he just hates the dumb people. And face it there a lot of them walking around here these days.
The documentary is shocking to say the least, how can you walk into a bank fill out an app for a Cd or account and get a free rifle just for doing so.....is that not crazy? And they actually have the rifles on hand! I have a lack of respect for that Heston actor now seemed everytime someone ended up dead by a gun he was there making statements........ "from my cold dead hands" what a moron. was it like 65 deaths in australia a year from guns? and 11,000+ in the USA?........
Hmmmmm I guess the killing of students at a highschool by means of firearms by other students is crap? I suppose a little girl being killed by another child is crap too? Truth hurts don't it? I know here is a thought go open up an account or Cd at that bank make sure you have some bullets handy when you recieve your "gift" and rob the bank with their own "free gift"
Why bother? It won't change anyone's opinion. If you point out the manipulations and outright lies within the picture, the people who like the picture and tend to support the themes the movie brings up will talk about how the accuracy isn't important because the movie asks the right questions and makes the viewer think. And then they'll head over to the D&D forum and post something about how horrible it is that George W. Bush lied about Iraq. (and, on the other end, those who don't tend to support the themes within the movie will point out the manipulations and outright lies in the picture and use that to discredit anything about the film... and then go and post about how manipulations are okay when it comes to serving the greater good, i.e. getting rid of Saddam Hussein).
Who here has seen Roger And Me? anyone?bamaslammer? chickenBoy? imadrummer? if you haven't, then get off the bash Michael Moore bandwagon. sure, the guy wears his agenda on his sleeve, but he exposes the weaknesses of American politics and business. and there alot of weaknesses, IMO. to the D&D
This is not the case. "In the very beginning of the movie, Moore visits a Michigan bank that appears to give out guns in exchange for opening an account, and leaves with a gun. This is obviously meant to show that it is too easy to get a gun, but apparently he did it by staging the scene. The truth is that the you pick up the weapon at a gun store after buying a long-term CD and taking a background check. So the audience is led to believe that the bank itself hands out guns on the spot to anyone who gets a bank accounts. "
I have......and it is utter agenda-pushing horsepuckey masquerading as a serious documentary. His ridiculous attack on GM and capitalism in general overlooks many of the real reasons why workers are losing their jobs and GM continues to bleed market share. There are weaknesses in our system, both politically and business wise, but any creation of man will be by its very nature flawed. But I'd still take our system over the socialist utopia that Moore in his books and films, supports the creation of.
This is the saddest legacy of the movie, by the way. The fact that someone who has, in his lifetime, done some very good things is slandered by creative editing and a outright lie of a timeline is dispicable.
From this statement it's pretty obvious that, despite your claims of having seen and read his work, that you did not. Perhaps you read a review of them from some conservative thinktank (which is a pretty common thing to do). Or at the very least, you just flat out missed the point.
