i predicted they would struggle early. they will continue to struggle until someone officially accepts a smaller role, just focusing solely on defense, spacing the floor, and deferring to the primary scorer. that should be kyrie/hayward, or kyrie/tatum. they may need to even send one current starter to the bench and start baynes.....or make a trade. some might say you can never have too much talent, but when you have so many YOUNG guys worthy of big role, it can be a problem. they have yet to show the world what they are capable of so its difficult to take a back seat. youve got tatum working out with kobe, filling his head with mamba mentality....those guys had success in the playoffs without kyrie/hayward, they want that rock and want to shine. this team cant be like GS where everyone gets a good amount of shots because they play at a much slower pace, and their top players dont have to have the ball. they can all catch and shoot. they need some guys to accept being role players
If we can manage to grab Gordon Hayward without giving up EG or Tucker then I’d go for him He’s an all star caliber player that’s very team oriented. He’s not producing like he was but his stats and play are still good and he’s improving every game
I went to the Celtics-raptors game last Friday. Celtics looked okay to me and they won that one. Fans calling for stevens’ head are frankly clueless. Not a coaching issue. It’s a role issue. Players are confused as to what role they have to play. Hayward coming back just confused guys like rozier even more. I don’t think their pieces fit very well - especially starting 5. Defensively as a team they’re very very good, but horford gets abused by more traditional centers. He’s not the best individual defender against guys bigger than him. Just odd pieces on that roster. Nobody has a clear role except maybe Kyrie.
I thought this thread will be soon moved to the dish. Maybe there's a deal incoming with the Celtics and Morey is watching this thread for some juicy trade input.
