Center from Stanford declared. He's 6' 11" tho...but he was top 5 in nation in rebounding. I think he's a better rebounding Chris Mihm type of player...might be considered with Toronto draft pick. Do you guyz think that he'll be better than Ming in the long run? I really don't see more than 12 pts 8 rebound out of Ming in his career.
Ming has more potential, though it remains to be seen whether the competition he has faced matches up with that at Stanford. Borchardt may very well return to school, however, and though he'd probably go lottery this year - he does have some injury questions about him. If I were a team strapped for a center, I'd take a long look at him, but not early in the lotto.
If he's there at 14/15 and the Rockets didnt get Ming some way, I'd definitely look at him. Apparently he alos has an outside shot ala Raef LaFrentz.
We already have Borchardt on the roster -- his name is Jason Collier. And Collier has a better shot, more bulk and time in grade learning the system.
Collier has very little in common with Bordchart. Bordchart is more like Mihm/Pryzbilla hybrid-Mihm's offensive game and Pryzbilla's shot blocking skills. I think he will be a solid, if unspectacular, player on both ends. A Loren Woods with a better back and more focus.
