He says he is going to sign back w/ Cleveland. We got Howard already, unless we trade him off somewhere.
MLE is very cheap for someone for his caliper and potential. If we can get him, even for TE, that'd be GREAT.
I have a feeling he's going to sign a much bigger deal than that. I'm going to guess he's going to sign a deal somewhere between 50 and 65 million. If I was any team with cap space and the need for a power forward I'd be giving his agent a call, for certain, but it's going to take a serious offer to lure him away from Cleveland and a future playing beside Lebron James.
Hopefully the chance of playing next to McGrady and Yao will entice him. I don't think the Rockets have the cash, but man it would be sweet to get him! I'm sure the Rockets are looking into it, though it's doubtful we can even get within sniffing distance of a good contract for him.
I'm a huge fan of Carlos Boozer and would love for the Rockets to entice him, but with only MLE money to spend and our 4 spot loaded with three big contracts and more pressing needs at the 1 spot and the back up 5, I sincerely doubt they'll even pick up the phone on this.
But the Cavs can only offer him MLE, we at least have TE. Someone like him at this cheap doesn't come around too often. Plus we have Yao and T-Mac as attractions.
it seems he genuinely wants to stay in cleveland with LeBron. I mean..this team actually gave him a shot when everyone passed him up in the 1st round. He's just being nice/fair to his team like how Mobley was to us a few years ago.
Oh wow. I just read the part about they can only offer him the mid-level exception. We actually can't offer him the TE though. That is a TRADE exception. the key word being trade. It can only be used in a trade. So of course, we could offer it in a sign and trade situation, but the Cavs aren't going to be in a hurry to trade him. I'll be shocked if there aren't at least a few teams willing to offer him a contract somewhere in the neighborhood of 7-9 million a year.
remember boozer assured lebron that the sophmores would win the rookie-sophmore game because the sophmores had yao.
Boozer is one blue collar worker on the board! I would love to see him in the Rocks Uni!! Imagine, almost 12 Rebounds a game and that's plenty.
Boozer is one of my dream players to add to this team, but I never thought it could happen, but I never would have guessed we could get T-Mac either. Anyways, Boozer would be a perfect PF for this team. He is a solid scorer, can hit the mid-range jumper and take it to the hole. He is an excellent rebounder, almost 12rpg as a sophomore!! He plays decent defense but could really improve under JVG. I doubt the Cavs let him walk, but like the article says: they can only offer the MLE.
I'm happy for Boozer that he is becoming a better and better player. Ever since he got embarrased (uncalled for) in the rookie vs. sophomore game in his rookie season - a sophomore player intentionally bounced the ball off boozer's head in the middle of the game - I've always rooted for him.
Smart move on CLE's part. They'll get a Mobely type deal with him now, unless someone swoops in and they have to match, which they would. If they waited until the end of next year, they'd have to give him a max contract. Now they can honestly say that all they can give him is the MLE, and sign him long term.
Nah it was Richardson. I remember him saying "i don't know why he's getting so upset, that's just streetball man." I've hated him ever since.
yeah the crazy thing about the whole play was the look on boozer face after it happened and the fact that JRich hit the 3 at the buzzer. If he doesnt hit the 3 that play probably would have been forgotten. still it was hillarious thats for sure as for boozer, i thought he would do well in the league because of 'blue collar' worker he was at duke, one of the few players out of duke that i liked (brand and hill the others) and frankly i was surprised he did drop so low in the draft. I dont think there is a snowballs chance in hell for us to get him i am sure the cavs will sign him right away to a nice contract, or at least as much as they can offer he is probably one of the most solid pfs in the east behind wallace and o'neal
