But y'all fail to realize that those were the years I was actually a student (93 & 94) UT has been kicking our ass for the most part over the last decade. But there was just an article about hoe Oklahoma just had to forfeit an entire season for some infingements, while the Reggie Bush debacle continues "unsolved." Most schools in the NCAA don't get a fair shake. Hell, more often than not, A&M is ranked ahead of Tech, even though we consistently have whooped them yearly.

More info released looks like they found Xanax, some mar1juana, and codeine UT safety arrested on drug charge AUSTIN (AP) -- Texas senior safety Tyrell Gatewood was released from jail Thursday after his arrest on drug charges, the fifth arrest of a Longhorns player since June. Freshman defensive back Ben Wells, 18, who was riding with Gatewood when he was pulled over late Wednesday, was given a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and released. Gatewood, 22, was charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug. It was his second drug-related arrest in a year, although misdemeanor possession charges were dropped after his arrest last September. He was suspended for a game. Texas athletic officials said they planned to release a statement later Thursday. Gatewood and Wells were pulled over by a Travis County sheriff's deputy for failing to signal a turn. Smelling mar1juana, the deputy searched the vehicle and found pot, Xanax and a baby bottle full of codeine cough syrup, said Travis County sheriff's spokesman Roger Wade. Bond was set for Gatewood at $2,500 for each count, but he was released on personal recognizance. Gatewood also was being held on an arrest warrant from Dallas County on a reckless driving charge from March. Bond for that charge was set at $500. Linebacker Sergio Kindle and defensive end Henry Melton, both arrested on drunken driving charges during the summer, are serving three-game suspensions that will end after Saturday's game at Central Florida. Freshman linebacker Dre Jones was suspended indefinitely last month after being charged with aggravated robbery. Former safety Robert Joseph was charged in the same incident. Joseph had already left the team after being arrested in a separate incident earlier in the summer. Gatewood, from Tyler, switched from receiver to safety before the 2006 season, and has played mostly on special teams. Wells graduated early from Beaumont Ozen High School and enrolled at Texas so he could participate in spring drills. I'm getting really tired with this crap. I don't say this a lot but Mack needs to get control of his program. I think kicking Gatewood off the team would show that this type of crap won't be tolerated.
Seriously people, we're talking about cough syrup. Freaking supersized extra strength cough syrup. I'm rather suprised that Tyrell went with pharmacuticals and not the Chronic like other young men his age. Punishment: 40 lashings with a wet noodle.
Sounds like an Owen Wilson cocktail. I'm concerned more for Tyrell's mental health and stability. Mack should reach out to him before administering any punishment. Those are all downers folks. In my experience only sucidal white girls who's boyfriend cheated on them take that type of combo.
Like SWT posted, you'd be suprised. Those also happen to be the 2 of the most popular drugs out there. Pot is everywhere, I'm not condoning it but I am never suprised when people get caught with it. Xanax is also the most popular abused prescription drug IMO. I know/known plenty of people that use xanax for fun.

Longhorn James Henry arrested on felony charges Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 09:59 AM Updated at 11:05 a.m. with details of incident from court records: Longhorn football player James Henry has been arrested on a pair of third-degree felony charges. He is accused of retaliating against victims who turned in a teammate for an alleged robbery. Henry, a redshirt freshman who has played on special teams this season, is charged with “obstruction or retaliation” and “tampering or fabricating physical evidence.” Combined, bail is set at $30,000. Henry was booked into jail at 3:59 p.m. Monday. In their arrest affidavit, Austin police accuse the 19-year-old Henry of retaliating on behalf of teammate Robert Joseph, who was arrested June 27 on aggravated robbery charges. Joseph and teammate Andre Jones were charged with breaking in to a Southeast Austin apartment and robbing several people in the apartment. Police say that Joseph called Henry the next day from jail, and their conversation was recorded. In that call, police say, Henry told Joseph that he’d gone to the scene of the robbery and confronted witnesses. “I went over there and whooped all them *****s last night, fool,” Henry is quoted as saying in the recording, according to the arrest affidavit. When police interviewed Henry and confronted him about the conversation, he admitted that he’d confronted the victims and gotten into a fight with them, the affidavit says. The victims told police that Henry had come up to them and asked, “Who narked on us?” They said that Henry tried to get into a fight with one of the men, 18-year-old Andre Swain, and told him, “b****es deserve to get kicked, so that’s what I am going to do!” The witnesses said that Henry then kicked Swain six or seven times in the head and punched him repeatedly.
