i guess you missed me saying "i don't really buy that it was the only way to find landry more minutes." i dont' dispute what morey said about wanting to find more minutes for landry, thus making bonzi more expendable (which isn't exactly what you claim he said but whatever). i just disagree with his conclusion. landry can still get his minutes if bonzi stays on the team; it just means bonzi gets to take some of the burden off battier and tmac who, in case you haven't noticed, have been averaging very heavy minutes since bonzi's departure. landry doesn't come in to back up tmac and battier, just like bonzi didn't come into the game to back up mutombo or scola. these guys were not playing the same roles on this team, despite what morey said.

i know disagreeing with what morey says that makes me naive and stupid since he's morey and he's made excellent moves thus far and i am a lowly internet fan. but if you take the mike james contract out of the equation it isn't as easy to say this was a great move for us. and you can't honestly deny that having bonzi in the post would make our current bench so much deeper.

i don't get either of these points.

what options do we have to back up shane and tmac? bonzi was just about it. we have mike harris but he isn't polished. luther head isn't a real backup to either of those guys because he's so undersized, he has to play with at least one of the bigger guards just to stay on the court.

and bonzi, at least by appearances, had great chemistry with the guys and was both the giver and the recipient of some very nice passes. tmac lob to bonzi being fronted by a smaller guard was good for 2 easy buckets a game, at least.
