weren't you complaining that he wasn't playing Snyder last week? Maybe we should make games 60 minutes so that he can play everyone you want him to
yawn. Not like Bonzi has contributed anything much this season anyway. At least that clears up where Snyder fits in.
in the article, feigen said its not an attitude problem but more of a basketball experiment.maybe he'll try to use snyder then if does not work that well he'll use bonzi more.but i feel in the end, JVG will use both of them come playoff time. he needs to use a 9 man rotation rather than a 8 man rotation.feigen's article is inconclusive
That's not true at all. Bonzi is a good passer, and he came from a Kings system which emphasized good passing. I guarantee you that Bonzi is not a ballhog.
Even if he doesn't contribute he can still be traded in the offseason for something or he can opt out and we can sign that something with the extra $$$. Steve Francis will be bought out my the Knicks at season's end and I like Fazekas as our draft pick(plus he and Snyder have that Nevada connection)
Bonzi will play depending on matchups in the playoffs. When Yao and TMAC are on the bench we need someone who can create offense. Personally, I don't think Bonzi really gives a crap until the playoffs...or if he is the only scorer in the game. He prob. figures he can do good in the playoffs, opt out, and get a good contract. I am skeptical.
Yeah, I really don't like this, but I can understand it. It's one or the other, and Snyder's proven that he's worth giving a try. I just wish we weren't so infatuated with Battier and Head. Don't get me wrong, I love both of them, but at this point I would rather trade them for a legitimate power forward + maybe a backup guard. In my dream world, we'd ship Battier and Head to Seattle for Wilcox and Ridnour while dumping Sura's contract. C: Yao/Deke/Jake PF: Wilcox/Howard/Hayes SF: T-Mac/Bonzi SG: Snyder/Bonzi PG: Rafer/Luke (In my head) That rotation gives us no real player position/role issues, no issues at all with getting players there minutes, and greatly increases our athleticism and depth at each position.
Wow... just wow. Our offense is inside outside, points in the paint, points beyond the line...without Head and Battier, whos going to shoot the 3? Snyder, Bonzi sure can't hit them. Not to mention this team would be very poor offensively.
Yeah musselman has done a great job this year. his team probably wont make the playoffs, but at least he can relate to players. Oh, the majority of the kings hate musselman by the way. too bad the rox cant steal him away.
They cant do it by themselves. We have had bonzi and Yao in the playoffs together before, they need a 3rd option, something they are still lacking
he needs to get in shape, before anything else. If he's really in shape and ready to play, i'm sure JVG will play him depend on the match up. He has had one good game this season, then he got a sore right foot a day later, it just shows you that he is not ready yet.
Supposing that Feigan is right, what I don't like about this is that Bonzi, for all his out-of-shapeness, can at least create offense which leads to opportunities for others even if he doesn't get a clean shot. Snyder on the other hand, creates offense only for himself. When he drives, he rarely kicks it out. He's just a classic, I'm athletic so I'll charge all the way to the rim and finish it guy. Bonzi is just a smarter player, period. And him having played in the post-passing Kings offense helps too. I don't like this either or thing. Both aren't very good fits for the team, but if given a choice, I'd take Bonzi over Snyder most of the time.
I really thought Bonzi was part of the plan. Why didn't we trade him before the deadline, if he's not going to be used? I don't care if we had traded him for the worst player in the league, but he might as well not exist for the Rox
I personally thought would have made a good threat to running teams like the Suns especially in the playoffs. The man is going for a pay check and what better venue than in the playoffs? I say he would make a good player for a team like the Suns because the Rockets love to take 3 pointers. Long 3 pointers equate to long rebounds the Suns can run with. Bonzi is one of the best small forward rebounders in the games. Have him picking up long misses along with Hayes would have definitely slowed down the tempo of the game vs a team like the Suns in addition to providing a legit 3rd scoring option that can create his own shot. His defense is actually pretty good when he actually gives a damn. Queue the playoffs where he's looking to earn a big paycheck.
Championship teams have stars that dominate. Our role plays simply need to be role players. If Yao and TMac can dominate, we'll be fine. Bonzi just takes touches away from who we really NEED to have to ball. Bonzi is nice if our guys aren't playing well. But if our guys aren't playing well, Bonzi isn't enough to carry the team anyway. So good ridence to Bonzi. So long, hamburgler.
Van Gundy is a bad coach. If he can't find playing time for Bonzi then he just sucks. Dallas plays 10 guys a night and Van Gundy can barely find time for 7.
