This is where we pick up Bonzi also.. Two of the best players from the Kings in 2005. If we can get him for cheap.. Then I really don't see why not.
Flexibility and trade assets are exactly why GMs trade for large expiring contracts. If a GM can't get the players they need in the first trade, they can obtain a contract or asset that will get those players in a 2nd trade.
I would be so creeped out if Morey had a masterplan this complicated. At the time it was a mediocre deal, but in hindsight it's payed big. Not only do we get Artest, but we saved money in a season in which Yao soon would be removed from.
