Are you talking about the one where he picks up a native and everybody in the car thinks he smells but the scent of everybody's cologne and perfume in the car smells bad to the native?
Deodorant or no deodorant does account for the fact that the IT dept works in an air conditioned environment but smells like a gym locker. I'm going with not bathing and washing clothes.
Oh it's true. Last time I was in Paris, I was stuck on a crowded train. It took every ounce of strength to not throw-up. I gotta assume it's more than just the deod, though. Americans shower every day (generally) or more. I don't think that's the norm for people in other parts of the world, so if you combine that with the no deod, it can be deadly.
a large part of the world outside the US doesnt use deodorant. and people started using it in the US relatively recently
