Report says that he would accept the job if offered. Will it be offered? What's the word in Texas?

He just accepted an extension at Tech like a week ago, I don't think he'd do that.

but he's the one that is quoted as saying that if they make an offer, he'll probably take it. or at least that's what i think i remember hearing.

When did he say that? It's purely speculation from what I've seen, unless I missed a quote from him.

    Here's the word in Columbus:

-Knight has the extension to TT but he has not signed it.
-The Adminisration at OSU is afraid of Knight and especially his relationship with Miles Brand of the NCAA.
-Knight is getting a lot of press, which is fueling the rumors.
-There are alot of fans who want Knight and probably almost as many who want nothing to do with him.
-Knight is having his influential friends contact OSU to feel them out
-OSU AD was on a workign vacation in Texas earlier this week very close to Bobby Knight which further spread rumors.

The other candidates (outside of other current NCAA coaches) are George Karl who publicly said on Columbus radio that he wants the job, and Cleamons the Lakers assistant who is an ex-OSu player.

Right now I don't know. OSU is scared of Knight but he would be a huge boost to a basketball program that is suffering. Yes OSU made a final four a few years back but OSU is probably the 2nd if not the 3rd best basketball team in the state (Cincy and Xavier).

I think this whole Knight thing is ESPN's big wet dream waiting to happen. Knight pretty much has everything his way at TX Tech (He has pretty much separated Men's Basketball from the rest of the Athletic Department like it's its own separate country) and as long as he stays away from the Chancellor no one will bother him. The basketball program at Tech is making strides and with the 5 & 8 rule gone, the future is looking brighter.

misleading thread titile. *boo*

Forget the limited off court incidents. Bringing Coach Knight to Texas Tech University is one of the best things that could have happened to the basketball program. 2 NCAA appearances, 1 NIT 2nd place finish, and 3 20+ wins seasons would have been unheard of 3 years ago.
