your forgetting one important part of the equation...he was part of the machine that was the 2004-2005 rockets...That Mavs series still haunts me like no other
Hayes was part of the machine that was the 07-08 Rockets, a team that won 22 games in a row and also lost in the 1st round. He was also part of the machine that won 50+ games and lost in the 1st round in 06-07. Yet Sura still gets more love than a guy like Hayes, who is still a Rocket. I repeat, Sura fans are gay.
Sura showed Rockets fans why Mike James sucks and is releasable... Chuck Hayes has yet to outdo any player.
Finally some one smart. Can you give a prediction on next years post-season yet? Or are you done spitting your BS nobody cares about.
When will you learn? if the Rockets had a chance to steal Luis Scola earlier...then we would all be going Chuck who?
Sura was a 6'5 PG who gave us size on the floor. He had the ability to rebound with the bigs, make plays, and hit the open shot. He was better than any other PG we've had in the Tmac era. It's a shame he was injured in the Dallas series.
Right on mfer(not in an insult just the expression) I just hope Sura will stop clubbing(obvious) and start praciting
Lets go ahead and take the provided by admin "Right to Be Truthfully Negative" position, instead of the Male Debbie Downer one. Nickelodeon is just a scaled down Disney Channel, so people who aren't aware of this and like Nickelodean are ghey.
ah, I miss sura, he is a player who has more passion and energy, I think he is better than alston.good player...
Lol, you obviously don’t remember the “machine”… That nick was given to the 04-05 rockets by one jon barry for their incredible fluidity on the offensive end. I don’t believe you were around watching rox games during that time because if you were you wouldn’t refer to the 06-07 and 07-08 rox as the “machine”. The 04-05 boys had incredible ball movement and rotation and deadly shooters to finish every possession. So please do not refer to the 06-08 teams as the “machine” because you would be incorrect, Just as incorrect as you were win you predicted “PLAYOFFS??? NO WAY!!!”
Hey layoff Brooksball, maybe he only saw Sura play for half a season and predicted we wouldn't make to the playoffs that year too. Maybe he stopped watching the Lakers/Celtics game 4 at half time too. or maybe he stopped watching the Oilers game at halftime vs Buffalo.. just kidding! he wasn't born then. it wasn't half way in yet.
Im gonna have to disagree, 07-08 team is superior to 04-05 team. 07-08 team won 22 games in row (only one other team has done that in NBA history) and they beat more heavyweights than they did that year. The Rockets of 08 flirted with 1st place in West until the last 3 games of the season.
I liked Sura. He was a bit of a tweener but he is the only Rocket in the last decade who would mix it up when things got chippy. People also forget that he had some big games. Not many PG can get 10 rebounds on any given night but that wasn't anything special for Bob. One thing that didn't show up in the stat sheet is how many long rebounds he got. If the ball had a hard bounce off the rim and was headed back out to the free throw line area he grabbed it every time. I would have loved to still have the 04-05 Sura on this past year's team.
i always said lets bring sura on board as an assistant coach, spread that hustle, energy, heart from the side lines, and get a tech for adelman
you are crazy, if we had yao ming then possibly that argument is true. But not having Yao Ming really hurt us in the play offs. The 04/05 team was the best team we've assembled in years. We had so much swagger, so many deadly shooters. We had a ton of guards that could flat out shoot the ball plus a developing Yao Ming that was finally learning how to be dominate. That was honestly Tmac's last "amazing" year. He is still amazing, but that year he was outstanding! I think he still has it in him, but the injuries keep him from getting back to that dominating player we all want to see. Yes, we shortly flirted w/ first place. yes, we were in a groove and did make history, but honestly you knew the minutes Tmac and Deke were logging would eventually wear and tear them over the course of the season. Half the team had some type of injury going into the playoffs. 22 game streak made history, but that doesn't mean anything if you can't put the same effort going into the post season.
