Anybody have one? If you do, could you recommend any good books to better use them. Mine's kind of a bulky phone with email right now. And (This is most important ) is it possible to see 'chat' on the blackberry? Say....Rockets pbp, for instance. I just tried to connect and got the 'you don't have java' message.
I have a blackberry aka crackberry. If you find yourself reaching for the blackberry on your hip every 5 minutes even when you don't have it with you, you've got a problem.
I have one of the newish 7100's (The 7100t) and love it. It really matters, however, which model you have as some of the older ones make horrible phones and can't do much beyond basic (text) email. What model do you have? Blackberryforums.com, as posted is great. If you're new to the whole business it does take some considerable deciphering before you feel comfortable.
I've got a (work-provided) blackberry. I'm very unimpressed with it. Perhaps, years ago, it was hi-tech. But by today's standards, the thing is a complete dinosaur. "Bulky phone with email" is the dictionary definition of a Blackberry.
Thanks for the link. I have the 7250 --freeby with the plan and have yet to figure how to use it. Anybody able to watch clutchfans pbp chat on one of these things?
BB 7250 should have Java but you might have to be on a BES server in order to use it. Also in your browser config make sure that you enable HTML tables, Flash/Embedded Media, CSS and JavaScript options. To do all this open up the Internet Browser, click on the trackwheel, go to Options and then select Browser Config. You can also try changing the browser emulation mode from Blackberry to something like IE or Pocket IE.
say goodbye to your blackberries. they have been hit with a lawsuit, which could shut down their company. but if you are a government worker you can still use em.
Thanks so much. I'll look up what some of those terms mean and give it a go in the next few days. So far, I'm pretty impressed. Other than the bulkiness of the thing. I'm paying about $50US per month for unlimited data, and 2000 minutes of phone. Not too far off from what i was paying for phone alone.
I've got the blackberry phone from cingular. It's pretty legit. It's actual the newer version compared to T Mobile. My version receives downloads a little quicker than the T Mobile one.
