the lcds look a little sharper. did you get that panasonic? did you change the picture settings?

if you have many hdmi products than you should consider getting a receiver or a hdmi switcher

Sears is a 46in Sharp LCD at $899. Whats the story on that model? I have never even looked at a Sharp but I hear decent things. The $899 50in Samsung plasmas sound nice too but I already got that last year lol. I miss the rear projection deals from Sony. Sad to see those go.

This is awesome, but I can't get it to filter or sort. Maybe because I have an old version of excel?

    My personal choice:

LCD's for video games and watching tv
Plasmas easily for watching bluray movies.

LCDs if you have a lit or dark room
Plasma if you don't have a brightly lit room

    and what tinman said.

Dude, go with the entertainment setup, not the computer...

Unless you are playing MMOs, the best games are on the consoles. Besides that, you can use your new shiny tv to watch high def movies, tv, and a number of other things. Something that can be your entertainment center rather than a home office accessory has more value.

Computer gaming has become a niche market, and it's only going downhill from here.

Actually, MMORPG is exactly what I play, thus the hard decision... It's been some time since I began wanting to switch to console for my gaming habits, but the transition is tough :(

But these days, the extreme high price of video cards(GTX 280 costing $399) have just reinforced my desire to make the jump

You probably do need to update excel or something.

I think glare can be completely avoided and is an overrated probably with plasmas. Certain models have filter screens. LCDs for some reason are starting to produce glare. The Sammy LCDs last year had more glare than their plasma counterpart in many cases.

This deal looks too sweet to pass up but I was looking at the tech specs and there are a number of things that are listed as unavailable. Do these options matter greatly?

those are just default fields that have not been filled in, the best thing to do is look up the tv on sharp's website.

what exactly are you looking for?
    specs on sharp's page

Not looking for anything too specific just not sure about all the tech specs yet. I do know Sharp is one of your top brands along with Samsung, Phillips, Sony and I am guessing you would not have suggested this set if you thought it was bad.

From the people I know who own sharp, they haven't had any problems.

there is a minor problem that some sharps have called banding.
but that was for older models. I haven't seen that problem on recent Sharp tvs.

Best Buy has this tv for $1099

I know Dell usually has 15% off promo codes. Will that work with that Sharp offer? And whats shipping? And is there tax?
