Which ones? It was definitely a bit different. Scottish: awesome, best one Space: very good Paparazzi: yep Joan: the most Black Mirror of them all, good Demon: it has things to say
The space one was probably most memorable; even if the ending was a sad one for the progtagnist. Paparazzi was probably my least favorite. Overall, most of the eps was decent.
Scottish one was decent. Midway, I kinda guessed the twist, which slightly added to the enjoyment since the show runners made my guess correct. Mostly because they dropped crumbs / clues from the start. All of the eps were decent, even if some hit a bit harder than others.
I like that they kinda went straight horror with a couple of them, instead of "oh look, it's technology gone bad again"
Agreed. the first one had a ****ed up ending that really made you think about the sadistic nature vs love for son
I think most people guessed the twist but didn’t expect the conflicting nature of the ending, humanity in the worst places and people
Seemingly everyone loves streaming serialized true crime murder p*rn, but how does it affect the actual people involved?
I'm a huge Charlie Booker fan. I consider him and Adam Curtis geniuses at their medium for social commentary. I've watched three and he's done a great job so far with leaving a message for people to think about. Spoiler I considered Hartnet as the protagonist but I guess the Jessie character fits the audience better. Jessie was a typical Post Greatest Generation stiff who didn't know how to cope with his dual life situation and ended up neither fully living in space or on earth. In the end, the couple both chose duty over being more emotionally driven even though Hartnet started opening a crack for both to tap into their feelings. As we live more in the digital space, are we fully able to live in the moment with our immediate connections? That ending.... Bit of a stalemate and I'm not sure who I'd root for to die last. Yeah I think the first one gave a hint that we sometimes prefer to see worse aspects of others for various reasons. The black mirror twist isn't some future stuff. Future is already here. Have to let that second one stew because it's real tempting to draw lines connecting the psychopath and the sociopaths. I guess the psychopaths are more upfront when they shank and dissect you for their amusement...
