Agreed, but still sad. I've said it before and I will say it again....the charts are not reflective of what is good music and what is bad music. You have to think of the music industry as a vat of chicken soup that is cooking. Once it starts to simmer, the fat, scum and associated nasty sh*t always rise to the top. You gotta dig down deep for the good stuff.
Speaking of Ashlee, did you guys hear about Lindsay Lohan lip syncing on Good Morning America? I saw a video clip last night and she was bad. I mean, the vocals would start and she had to quickly grab the mic and pull it off the stand.
Seriously, people who buy Duff/Lohan/Ashlee/J Lo music are total idiots. What is it going to take for people to finally stand up and say "Quit putting out talentless whores!" As a former full time musician, this stuff really pisses me off. Kelly Clarkson might get joked about, but at least that girl can sing!
When I was a kid, people complained about 11 and 12 year old kids buying Partridge Family and Bay City Rollers records. Nothing changes. It's a pop music fact of life. Sh*t rises to the top. Always has and always will.
I have newfound faith in humanity. Tonight at the Rockets game Ashlee Simpson was one of 3 videos the fans could choose to have played on the big screen. The majority of the crowd booed loudly when they showed her face. Thank you, Rockets fans!
