I don't get it. Recently cops love to get me.

So 6 months ago I get on 610 by Reliant and I get pulled over while in the right hand lane for going 71 in a 60. I may have been the slowest driver on the road. This has turned into a VERY popular speed trap so I never go fast anymore. It sucks to get a ticket for going that slow but I understand I was going faster than the posted speed limit. I did defensive driving and that ticket is dismissed.

A month ago I am going down 45N to work. I left for work earlier than usual so I parked it in the right hand lane and was cruising. My radar detector went off but I was going way slower than the rest of traffic so I muted it and kept on going. I get pulled over. Again I got a ticket for going 71 in a 60. I don't know if everyone is familiar with 45N but it is the armpit of freeways. There are never any cops and it just looks like crap. He gives me a ticket for speeding and one for having an advertisement around my license plate (Texas Exes frame). That was kind of annoying because I read an article about how they are not giving those anymore. I have to go to the courthouse to show proof I removed the frame. I paid 10 bucks for that one and 200 for deferred adjudication for the speeding ticket.

So now I am on traffic probation for 90 days so I drive like an old man everywhere. Half the time I turn on cruise control and just drive only in the right lane. Today I wanted to get an iced coffee from McDonald's on my way to work. I exit West Road and a cop exists too. I turn onto west and the cop turns onto West. I turn into MacDonald's and the cop does to. I figure he wants breakfast as well. I get in the drive through lane and he drives around me and creeps past me just staring at me and then drives off. Really man WTF is that about? I drive a white Nissan Maxima. No rims. No odd lights. No flames on my doors, no coffee can exhaust. Just a normal car.

I won't ever say I hate cops because there are so many good ones out there. But this one was a dick. He was trying to intimidate me for no reason. Either that or he was trying to get me to make some kind of moving violation which is equally annoying.

Just wanted to share with the Brotherhood of the Hangout (BOH).

    Sorry to hear that.

I wonder if they will arrest or give you a ticket if you flip them off. Has anyone here actually did that?

BigSherv (or any of my fellow BBS brethren)....if you get a moving violation, and want to get out of it, PM me. I got turned onto a lawyer who specializes in these things by a friend who is a salesman. My buddy drives all day and racks up speeding tickets. The lawyer charges $60 per ticket and has a success rate of over 90%. Just used him 6 months ago and it worked like a charm. I will never pay a fine on a moving violation again. PM me and I will give you the lawyers' name and number.

The last cop probably thought you were driving like a guilty person because you wouldn't exceed the speed limit. Then he looked in, saw you weren't black and decided it was probably alright.

I am Indian so I could have been a black guy with nice hair.

That is what the black salon ladies used to call me.

"Boy, you got such nice skin. You like a brother with some nice hair."

    I always said "thanks"

That's hilarious. I also use the Texas Exes license plate frame, and have had it on my car for like 5 years. The thing about tickets is that they do come in bunches. So you've probably got your fill for awhile.

what is this all about, now? that sounds kind of ridiculous, if you ask me. ANY frame is considered an advertisement and must be removed or you get a ticket?

what about all the frames with car dealerships?

did you buy your car at a police auction?

maybe your vehicle was previously owned by a criminal.

Maybe there is something on your record that pisses cops off.
Find a friend who is a cop and have him/her run your license plate and see what it says.

I have never had anything on my record. Never been arrested. Never had a warrant. I have gotten maybe 7 tickets in 13 years. All dismissed via defensive driving and 2 by deferred adjudication.

This is going to sound super ignorant of me... does this crap happen to White/Caucasian/Anglo Saxon people?

    [KNOCKS ON WOOD]

I used to get a ticket every 6 months like clockwork. Don't ask how many times I've taken defensive driving...

Have not had one in a while, but I don't drive much anymore.

Point being that, yes, white folks get pulled over all the time too.

This white guy has gotten many traffic tickets, some deservedly, and others less so. And I've been pulled over and warned 3-times as often as I have been written a ticket. Much work and driving in East Texas and Louisiana has increased that.

I don't get why people complain that "cops have it out for [them]" if they are breaking the law.

Why do you have to sound ignorant, BigSherv? I think it's a valid question.

You broke the law, you got caught. Plain and simple.
    Fixed your grammar.

Dude, give me his info again. I have a court date tomorrow in South Houston's court for two non-moving violations. I was just going to pay them, but if I can pay him less, I'll definitely go that route.

I once got pulled over for "speeding" but they made me step out of the car and questioned me for 20 minutes on whether I had drugs or illegal firearms in my car (including grenades and rocket launchers, WTF???). Drug dogs even showed up but they never searched my car or asked me to open the trunk or anything.

They gave me a ticket for an expired vehicle inspection sticker.
