I've got to say the selflessness (is that a word?) of Steve Francis. Van Gundy is a close second.

Im going with JVG here. I think Steve's better play is because of the message that Van Gundy is putting out. Play smart, play hard and D up every play. Cudo's to Steve for taking it to heart.

    "None of the above."

My biggest surprise is how well the team has jelled -- especially on D.

The D and Van Gundy's coaching are really no surprise at all...that's what he gets paid for.

My vote when to Cat's acceptance of his new role.

I think we're going to be able to win a lot of games by Cat and Taylor lighting it up when most of the starters are on the bench for both teams.

Most definitely Jeff Van Gundy. He's the reason for the team early success and I have to put Mobley's play for 2nd.

Steve still makes the dumbest turnovers in the league...it gets frustrating, but he seems to make up for them.

The team's "D" is the biggest surprise

And would anyone pickSteve playing like a real PG? He still can't run a pick and roll to save his life, and failed to make two easy passes to Yao last night that would have resulted in dunks.

OK, I'll buy that. I knew JVG would improve team D and D (defense and discipline) but my biggest surprise was how fast we went from utter chaos (first few preseason hames) to one of the league's best teams. With Nash back, I'm not sure we're ready for the Mavs, but it'll be a close game and we could pull it out. I expect us to come back the next night and beat the Suns -- a feeling of confidence I haven't had in years.

Why don't you have an "Other - Please explain" option???

I personally don't think it is any one peron in particular.

    1. You can give JVG credit for working his team. Instilling confidence in his players and receiving respect in return. Ever since things started looking on the up and up, you have seen more positive feedback from the palyers about JVG (of course we're winning).

    2. Mobley is shooting well because Mobley has open looks.

    3. Yao is drawing double and triple teams and when he is boxed out, it opens up the lane for other team members. And when he is contained, it leaves the wide open perimater.

How about this for an option? --- "Everyone is doing their job!"

    What a concept:rolleyes:

That the team is playing hardcore defense. If this continues, we are going to win alot of games.

swilkins: The poll never once referenced Cat's shooting, but rsather his early season play.

By the way, nearly all of Cat's shot last night were with at least 1 hand in his face. He only had maybe one or two really open looks, and he bricked a couple of them.
