I know its preseason and all but I was looking at the boxscore for the celtics vs knicks game. Paul Pierce put up 20 shots while KG and Ray Allen combined for 23 shots. Pierce got 29 points and allen got 12 while KG got 17.

All three of them played 40 minutes or so and they lost...against the knicks.

    Sign of things to come?

As long as we are in the business of making half-assed predictions based on the preseason, I predict that Atlanta(6-1) is the best team in the league...BY FAR.

Yea I know its making something out of nothing. But I think they'll have trouble at first balancing shot attempts.

I watched the whole game, my impression is that KG is not a true leader for getting a NBA title. This team may be really overrated.

there the best team in the east easily much better than an overrated pistons team that Flip has lost control of and since when did people care about preseason stats  ??? KG looked like he meshed with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce the east is in big trouble.. the nba is in big trouble except for the ROCKETS!!1 :D

Im tellin' you, theyre going to be better this year! For real, they finally drafted correctly (Acie Law & Al Horford). As far as best team in the league....well...

40 wins could be enough to get you into the playoffs in the East though...

I hear ya. The Hawks are going to be tough. Joe Johnson is easily one of the most underrated players in the league. I swear if you asked your average NBA fan which team he plays for and what he averages they wouldn't be able to tell you both.

Josh Smith plays exactly like Kirilenko used to play but he's more aggressive and a better offensive player. Look for him to break the 20 PPG barrier this year. Add to that their trio of former top five pick PF's and solid players like Childress and Lue. Acie Law will be starting before season's end.

They have quite the nucleus. My buddy is a big Hawks fan so i'm inevitably forced to watch a ton of Hawks basketball year after year. Believe me when I tell you they're a tough matchup. There arent many teams that can match their athleticism.

they played the knicks.anyone would succeed against them. plus i wouldnt mind seeing them in the finals. i think if they add a guy like mike harris they will be much more effective in the east.

Unfortunately for the Hawks, there are 25-27 teams in the league that will more than match their win total...

Were not saying theyre contenders or anything, just that you cant look at them on your schedule and pencil in an easy "W" against them anymore. They are young and will take a season or two to gel, but they are on the right road. A decent big man and a better coach and theyre in the mix in their division.
