In years past, I've woke up on Mondays after all of my teams lost during the weekend. Every now and then all of me teams win, but this weekend has been spectacular. First, I've got to go with the big win for Texas over OU. This has been a painful weekend for the last few years so it was nice to finally win that one. Astros on Saturday, and then the huge one on Sunday. What an amazing game with so much on the line. There are a million things that can be said about that game and since we won, they are all good. The Texans win to break the winless streak. Of lesser importance, but just to add to the great weekend: Cowboys win (makes me happy mostly because I hate the Eagles) Texas A&M loses. Hell, even Baylor won this weekend! If only USC would have lost...
Its like that front cover of that Cincy( or some other pathetic football team of yesteryear) paper a few years back. Cincy had lost like 10 straight, and then finally won a game. The headline the next day was "Cincy loses again-- No wait!"
It was definitely one of the best I've had... Thursday: Watch the Astros Lose (not good, but at least it was televised in the Big D) Friday: Got drunk (not sports related, but had fun at the bars Saturday: Texas-OU (Watched it at Dukes here in Dallas and it was freakin' on...Sat in the OU tent as it was the only place that had tables...Great game... Saw parts of the Astros win... Saw UofH beat Tulane on freakin' TV...(Rare here in Dallas) Went to a Dwight Yoakam concert and it was pretty cool... Sunday: Tailgated at the Cowboys-Eagles game (hate the Eagles) and went to the game... Heard of the Texans losing...( ) Heard of the incredible game won by the stros'... All in all, lost a hell of a lot of brain cells, but man, what an incredible weekend...
I felt like a dumbass when on my way to lunch today, I heard that the Texans lost. My wife told me that they won, so I've learned not to trust her as a source of sports information. Anyway, even with them losing, it was still a kickass weekend! Now, if my flag football team can win tonight... (not a chance)
best sports day for me in Houston was Christmas Sunday 93. Rockets played Phoenix when Horry had about a billion dunks but they lost, and the Oilers beat the 49ers when Blaine Bishop sacked Steve Young. I think that win 14 in a row after starting 0-2.
Great weekend. TCU won again, Astros won... MMP was the best experience I've ever had at a sports venue. It was insane Saturday.
