Ya it just has Human Nature in the background...different words...so not really a cover, more of a sample i guess. Oh and BTW: "Fiction" is another good Orgy song...but I believe it's an Orgy original..
Not quite sure what qualifies as a cover per se. SWV's 'Right Here' used both the music and the chorus of Michael Jackson's original song. I would call that a cover. If only tracks are used, I think that's sampling. Any musicians wanna chime in?
He may also be referring to the cover done by "String Cheese Incident" which is much more bluegrassy than Phish. It is pretty darned funny. "I'll be rollin' down the street, smokin' endo, sippin' on gin and juice, lay back with my mind on my money and my money on my mind" great, now I'm gonna have that song in my head all day . . .
SWEET!!!! how could that not be mentioned... good job A-Train... that is a hilarious cover... man, "String Cheese Incident"??? i'm rather surprised... Why multiple covers of "Gin & Juice"?? as for Kelly Osbourne's rousingly BAD rendition of "papa don't preach"... ugh! could the band BE any more louder??? It's obvious she has no voice and used instrumentals to cover her lack of talent... thank goodness local Austin radio stations don't blare that junk with the rest of the crap they play...

The Gourds do the most famous cover- Snoop really likes it (so i've heard) Soundgarden's cover of Come Together is one of the best i've ever heard.
I did a Google search in curiosity about the earlier posts, and apparently the Gourds version IS the one sometimes (mistakenly) credited to Phish ... and, i'm guessing, the "more bluegrassy" one credited to String Cheese Incident as well. But Sissybar covered it two years earlier. (Though I have to admit, their live rendition is better than the recorded one.)
Thanks everyone, re: "Gin & Juice." It's the version by The Gourds that I was thinking of, and I about laughed out loud when I first heard it...amazing how that song went from rap to country/bluegrass in a mere remake.
